Is there someone who didn't forget where the reciepe for the "Robust Witcher's Silver Sword" was found?
I restartet the Game and I'd like to know before I start with some of the quests.
*EDIT*
I'd like to know the locations of the "Superior Witcher's Silver Sword" too.
Anyone found the "Sword of Kaer Morhen"? If so, where?

I read somewhere here in the post that Skidrow gives low fps compared to GOG version so still confused whether its ok to go with GOG since not many people are advising to get that version

I´ll admit pirated this game just to see if it was to my liking and holy crap was it awsome, as soon as i got onto the castle wall i was sold and decided to buy the GOG version as soon as i get payed the 25th just to support CDP, absolutly a masterpiece for me and well deserving of my money so they can continue to give us great games, i just hope they don´t go the route that many devs today do with dumbing down their games to such an extent that i just can´t bare to play them thru, for me this ranks up there with such old greats as Baldurs gate, ultima series, original fallouts and deus ex, makes me a bit sad of the state of gaming today.
Also a big thank you to all the helpful people on here as this has been my goto site for alot of games thru the years just never felt the need to register until now, you guys have saved me countless times for diffrent reasons over all this time, THANK YOU all!

Well I tend to post images as I progress but I did most of the above in a single playtrough so due to that I decided to upload all those images.
(Otherwise the party and remembrance images would have been split up and the Kayran images might have been added - plus more of the troll ones - also it was a great fight, more adult images of Triss completely naked had to be removed as well, haha.)

To try and answer the question somewhat let's just say that's impossible for a large number of reasons, technically I live on close to minimum funding and are classed as a pensioner of sorts.
(Unsure how it all works out.)

I noticed in your screens that you have those grainy shadows as well. I have that thing too. Is it like that for everyone or what? I tried bumping shadows to Ultra but it looked EXACTLY the same, the shadows didn't change from what they looked on Medium.
Edit: It seems like it's the same for everyone. Oh well.

I too have those grainy shadows, but they don't bother me in normal gameplay, only when I start staring at them.

That section is a recipe for failure.
With the crappy item targetting many times I just got pegged by the guards. trying to target the damn torch.

The silver witcher sword is at the start of level in Floatsam.

Hey, care to elaborate how to get that recipe pls? In a spoiler ofc. I tried, I HONESTLY did tried to sneak in that area but failed and had to kill around those guards.
_______
Also, a question for those using Steam version:
Any idea if Steam version runs in par with GoG version - as in no slowdowns or longer loading times in game? In theory, I figure it should. Still not decided if I should go with Steam or retail (changed my mind a bit here).
Thx!

Could be because you had a slower PC for the past recent years. The same happened to me, I got a new PC last year, when I saw everything above 30 FPS'es and smooth as butter(for my eyes, anyway) I was like a kid in a candy store. Nowadays it pretty much happens the same, when I saw how silky smooth The Witcher 2 plays out, I was like whaaaaaaaa-. |
Probably. I also never used to even monitor how many fps I got in games until the past year or so. I think a lot of people get obsessed with whether they have 30 or 60, and don't care as much about how the game actually PLAYS. Who knows how many games I have been playing at 20-25 FPS the past few years. The only game I recall where I KNEW I was getting single-digit FPS recently was Crysis on Windows Vista with my old 8800GTX

Spoiler: | I'm not sure if we are talking about same area. This is when Flotsom city commander ask you to get to his house to talk to him, at night. Then, while waiting, Roche can distract one guard, so you can stealth in around backyard.
If you get caught, there is no killing, you just get strait to commander. So you need to succeed in sneaking in order to loot things. No other way. |
