No clear idea. I started playing Tuesday morning and finished about an hour ago, played heavily since I started. I skipped a lot of side quests because I was more interested in the main story.

No performance improvement for me (or it's <5%), but the game launches and savegames load a LOT faster than on original .exe. Fucking copy protections. Sad

Well just beat the game.

Was about to post some " Sad " icon, alongside with "that fast? damn, that's sad!". But then I remembered about Morrowind done quick - 14 mins. Smile

I am exploring every corner, nook and cranny, collecting and reading EVERYTHING. My Geralt is also a badass that can't be arsed to RUN, except combat situations. Walk, admire, explore, drool etc.

Yep. Love this game.

Changed some settings here and there with the gfx options, still running off of high profile but with things like blur and crap disabled, aa on though and go from 35-60 fps now.. Seems a lot smoother though I will need to play an hour session to see if its improved or not. Game looks amazing with everything on, cant wait to be able to play it as it was meant Sad

I got 2-3fps improvement (though I'm in a different location now) and starts in 5-6 seconds instead of 30.

Same here, the framerate isn't affected much but the loading speed is definitely less enervating now Razz

Lame excuse, as I've read it in the comments too.

Didn't know that PC Gamer is actually just a bunch of guys that review games depending on their last night girlfriend's performance in bed.

How is that a lame excuse? A review is a fuckin opinion, and last time I checked different people have different opinions even though some are just plain wrong (like DA2 getting anything above 50)

This is hardly 'discussing'. You just keep coming back and saying combat sucks and call us fanboys. GTFO

dont put words in my mouth, i didnt say combat sucks and i didnt called you all fanboys, if you cant read, dont reply.

On another note, it feels like an action adventure to me, not a rpg.

Not to bash you but combat in First Templar is very simple compared to TW2
1. Block is impenetrable and unlimited.
2. Dodging has invincibility frames
3. Parry is useless - you are better off just blocking.
4. Finishers are just eyecandy for the last enemy - you can't do anything to influence the chance of a finisher.
5. HUGE visual markers appear above enemies showing exactly what special attack is comming.
5. No options in combat - you can only whack dudes with your sword (well the chick can throw a useless dagger). In TW2 you have preparation (potions, oils, finding out about enemy weaknesses from books, equiping proper armour and weapons), traps, bombs, signs.

So yea, while some mechanics are similar (Adrenaline/Zeal, timing based combos and criticals) it is nowhere near TW2 in depth.

You're still at the beginning, wait till you reach Act I and you'll have all the RPG elements that you need Wink

Any discussion about Dragon Age 2 getting higher review scores than The Witcher 2 is a waste of time, mate.

The ones that accepted and promoted this (PC Gamer) can't be reliable as "recommendations" and judging values.

clearly english isnt your first language (neither its mine), but my sentence did in no way imply that "everyone" is a fanboy. I simply called out to the fanboys, if present, to bash me. Now if your understanding of such a basic question is too much, MAYBE you should stop quoting me and keep quite about the matter ... cause you're only making a fool out of yourself ...

Played some time and its a great game(remember im not a rpg fan, didnt even finish the first one). Graphics, atmosphere, sound are amazing, performance is quite ok - everything on ultra (without ubersomething)-30-60 fps on i5 2500k and oc 5850. But there are some major bugs like ctd without any message or with "application has stopped bla bla" -i think its happening after saving(retail bought version)- most time. Another bug is appearing/disappering npc's right in front of me out of nowhere. The game could also have some better facial animations- but ofc its not a bug. And for me its quite hard on normal -its ok cause im a noob. Nonetheless game is epic Wink .
