In "Final Destination 5," Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man's premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death's sinister agenda.

seriously, why complain? its a movie in which a bunch of teens get slaughtered one by one in elaborate, though bullshit, scenarios.
why would anyone object? these are just fun empty light-hearted flicks that are worth a watch and then you delete... atleast these films dont even PRETEND to have a story.. just a vague set-up, and then way-hey, start the teen killing.
now if they were doing another FUCKING piece of shit SAW movie, id agree with you.
yeah but it took itself WAYYY too seriously, and revelled in the torture side of it, more than the killing, so i.. personally, could just never get into them.
also the saw films bogged themselves down by thinking they had a clever story to tell with some kind of 'message' to it. which they didnt on both counts!
these films are just FUN slaughter... and we all know you cant spell slaughter without ....

Ill say it right out; I'd take a new Saw movie aaaany day of the week instead of a movie with fratshits in it.

Exactly these movies don't take themselves seriously. It's all about the crazy way you can 'accidentally' die. It's all fun. And they're comedies too. Deaths aren't supposed to be scary and frightening. They're supposed to be lol. And they all are.
The thing is that it could actually be OK if it all seemed accidental, but when it's higher powers at hand pushing things and doing shit to kill them, it turns to shit.

i agree, and thats the only thing i really didnt like in the later movies.
in the first ones, things WERE happening by freak accident.. someone does something and a killing event starts... or just natural events kickstart an action.
but especially in the last movie, it felt like 'death' was actively doing shit, which felt really cheap.
i hope they go back to the accidental style of the deaths - those are always more rewarding somehow
first and second were the best of the lot, and while i personally DIDNT really think the last one was all that good, i still like the franchise as a concept and totally want to see another movie.
