In the first game you had a couple of quickslots in your armor where you could put potions for quick usage.

No, you simply meditate before combat and use the potion, then exit meditation mode. Swallow's effect lasts about 10 minutes.

I experimented with turning off CPU demeaning options (decals, dangling objects), but it didn't really made any difference in most demanding scenes. I guess AI and pathfinding are still major factors in CPU utilization.

Offiicial word form Valve on their forums. An employee (ChrisD) said they got the build very late and they're trying since two hours to push the data to servers.

So now you can use potions only in/with meditation and not on the fly? I can't seem to be able to use potions also. Nub me.

All previews have mentioned the potion thing, you have to buff before combat now. You can't take a pause in teh middle of a fight to drink some potion this time.

What graphics quality and fps could I expect with an Athlon II X4 (4x3.0GHz), 6GB RAM and a HD4850(512MB)?
(Playing at 1920x1080)

You couldn't do that in the first game either, you'd get raped during the drinking animation. Unless you played on easy or sth.

Ah I see now. Thx for replys!
I also prepared in advance while playing The Witcher on hard mode but sometimes had to throw in another pot(s) while in (new) fights.
Good thing loading times are not a pain anymore now.

I have the same rig with the exception of the video card....HD5770 and playing on Ultra with UberSampling and VSync disabled. Like I mentioned a few posts back....difference from High to Ultra isn't noticeable but lowering the resolution to 1600x900 made a world of difference for me.
I recommend a bit of tweaking in the Advanced Menu since you have less video memory.

Game is very CPU demanding. Much more than graphic card.
On e4300@2,9Ghz I get 20-25 fps in open areas, regardless of most of the graphics settings (turned off motion blur & AA though). I've got R4850.
So if you've got 4 cores CPU you will be fine even with GF 8800GT. High end 2 core CPU will be not that bad too, but low-end 2 core CPU is a little problematic.
Bought game today in Empik for 89,99 zł ~ 30 USD.

the big question is, is the skidrow release patchable ?!
the patch in the skidrow release is not the release patch!
this patch is the activion patch .
when you buy this game with this activition drm, and you active your game online, then you download ~ 28 mb. the release patch have ~ 400 mb

"yay" ? cant they fucking release before freakin game release, man there were days when we used to get drivers month before release.. now this shit, having sli is like having month delay on 90% games..
