That specific procedure is only with the benQ drives but I could be wrong.

Stupid question that I can't seem to find an answer to. My liteon is flashed with 1.5.1 (with the hopes that it was gonna play wave 4) and now that I'm banned I couldn't care less about "flagging" my console by doing a shitty flash job. Now that it's been flashed I no longer need the connectivity kit to reflash it right? I can plug it into a sata port and no have to dick around getting the drive key or anything? Or am I still gonna have to take it to my mod guy to get the firmware updated?
i can has computar?!

I have my x360 set up for 1080i in the consoles display menu, do the games run at that rez or do they scale to 720p(or witch ever rez they normally use)? I know the x360 doesn't use full HD(1080p/1080i) but I notice a difference in games, especially in the letter font size. Even if the game doesn't run in 1080p/i the font size is different for 720p/1080p/1080i.

I'm thinking about getting a new 360 Elite tomorrow, any advice on what I should look out for and do all the new drives have modded firmware available? Cheers
EDIT: Incase anyone would like to know, all drives can be flashed with modded FW but a few require some extra hardware... Very cheap though, just a few pounds.
I got a Lite-on drive (yellow wires), going to get a mate to flash mine.
Thanks for the advice people lol

If you run in 1080i/p, the games that aren't native 1080 will upscale. There are a handful of titles that are native 1080, but obviously nowhere near as many as the 720p titles.

Wrong. It's perfectly safe to flash any xbox drive in windows. No less safe than using dos. And less of a hassle too. Jungleflasher and dosflash32 (or 64) work perfectly fine.

i'm about to "buy" a flash because i can't be bothered to do it myself(and it's pretty cheap so why not) but i got a question.
i don't plan to go online at all so how often would an upgrade to the firmware be needed(which means i have to send it again and i would like to.. not at all)?
supposedly it's a samsung drive and he'll be flashing it with Ixtreme 1.0.
thx

I got a question,
I lost track of all the updates and such lately and Im wondering If I could still burn and play without a problem.
Reading about this AP 2.5 im unsure.
My box is modded with either iXtreme1.41 or 1.51 (Lite-on drive) Cant remember exactly what the firmware number was, but it gotta be one of those.
I used to patch my games to Wave3 to get it working.
So my question, Am I still good to go patching down the latest games like Fight Night Champion to wave3?
Or is an update necessary.
*edit, Patched it too wave 3 and its working, I know enough I guess

If you update to the new dash now, and you don't have a Samsung/Hitachi drive, then you'll be hit with AP25 checks and won't be able to play Black Ops. I'm not sure about Bulletstorm, sadly, as I only played the PC version.

If it's a LiteOn drive, and you haven't installed LT+ yet, you'll lose ALL your games that have AP25 on them. Unfortunately I don't have a link to a list of games with AP25 :\ Once you've installed LT+ -- you're good to go and yes, I'd strongly recommend updating the dash before Microsoft bring out their next one (anywhere between 20th and 26th of May) as that one is DAMNING.
