Question is though, can you play up to disc 2, save, then exit and run disc 2 and continue? Or do I NEED the disc-swap plugin for FSD?

Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

After the lipstick murder ( great case btw ) you get a case overview to see how you did and then it asks you to "please insert disc 2" , i'm sure that at this point you can just shut down the xbox 360 and continue from disc 2 afterwards

Well crap, downloaded the game. It works FINE (can't believe there is no AP2.5) but.... my 360 keeps freezing up every 30-40 minutes. Audio keeps going but the video is locked up, and I can't return to the dashboard. Even ejecting the DVD doesn't do anything.

I guess I need a new console??? Sad That or just skip this game and play The Witcher 2 instead.

You're about to have the RROD. If you don't have time to do a proper fix wrap it in a towel (smother it) and let it run until it overheats and shuts itself off. Do it again after that and let it cool. It will work anywhere from 1 hour to 1 week, depends on your usage. Before I got my jtag my samsung box started red ringing while I was trying to finish a game. Each time I would go to play I would have to do this half ass towel fix but it worked well enough for me to get through the game.

Later on I did the proper fix with the washers and shit and it works fine whenever I use it.

My god....you can't be serious....using that towel trick? You do more bad to your console using that kinda thing.
Its such a shame people still believe in these ridiculous fixes. DO NOT EVER DO A TOWEL TRICK with xbox.

I bet it autosaves before asking for a disc. Anything else would be pretty retarded. Multiswap plugin is pretty awesome though, so i recommend installing it.

So it's 7 main cases to be completed before each disc swap happens right?

At the rate I'm progressing, I don't think this game would last for 20 hours. I'm just 2 1/2 hours in the game and already done with 5 main cases and 7 street crimes missions. Sad

Trust me, the cases get way bigger/longer to complete. So just because you've done 5 now, doesn't mean you've done 10 after another 2 hours Wink

If you have played the rest and can confirm that, then I'll take your word for it. Very Happy

But so far, the cases were pretty easy to wind up on. I was just driving around hoping to answer a distress call and then haul ass towards it. This would probably keep me away from finishing the main storyline way too fast. I only have the first disc for now, so until, I have all the 3 discs, I'm taking it slow and steady. But dam this game is too engrossing. I love the night time environment. It just sets the mood for my night play-through session. Wink

Ok so I haven't played a game since Fifa 11 nearly a year ago...

I just burnt this and it's asking me to do an update when I put the disk in. I understand this - I haven't updated to the Kinect dashboard etc.

I have a really old Samsung drive which plays everything I throw at it, regardless of AP or whatever you call it. I don't even have to wave3 patch or whatever.

Am I safe to install the update on the disk - or is there a better update somewhere I should install from USB?

You're safe to update, but be warned that if you do; you'll be subjected to AP25 checks on *some* titles - blocked out of playing backups of them (originals work no matter the firmware) unless you update to LT+

Games such as Halo Reach, Black Ops, Fable 3, etc. I'm sure someone else knows of a comprehensive list of games that use AP25. Luckily, LA Noire isn't one of them - so if you update you can still play fine.

Samsa drives don´t have the AP2.5 protection so its safe to update your dash.
I understand that you don´t patch your games - so you can update from DVD or you can use USB stick.

I see. So AP25 games like Black Ops (Which currently works on my drive) will now stop working. Shame, but I guess all I need to do is flash my drive for them to start working? If I do upgrade to LT+, will my older games like Dead Space work any more?

This is a mix between Mafia 1 (PC) and a modern day Police Quest 1. This game is excellent Smile

Is it the Sammy drive that doesn't have AP checks? My bad, I thought it was the Hitachi. Oh well, in that case; update away, Horror, you've nothing to fear.

-edit-

If you update the drive FW, all your existing games will continue to work - and since you're on a Sammy drive, you don't have to worry about AP25.

Both sammy's and all older hitachi's (model revision 59 and earlier I believe) are immune

Go back and re-read the part where I said I still fixed mine and it works fine now. Wrap the damn thing in a towel, it will be fine. If you understand what causes the RROD to begin with you'll understand why the towel half asses it and why the washer method works flawlessly.

Damn dude you'd really have a shit fit if you knew about the one we took a hand torch to. Bottom line - I know what i'm talking about. Go back to worrying about lint building up in your computer and install a few more fans so you can worry less about heat.

It's standard practice for me to install the game before playing. Faster loading, smoother experience, eliminates any possible disk/drive issues.

Not to mention, no drive noises.

edit- if the problem persist however, make sure to run the ISO through abgx (once the game is in it's database). MK9 kept freezing on me last week, and was thinking a bad burn or something, but it was due to a bad dump.

I finished the disc 1 and haven't had any problems with the game.

I got one serious bug already. I was looking for "clues" inside suspect's house and after I checked the broken window and turned around my partner spawned with the car directly inside the house lol. I had to dump him, stole a car from the street and drive alone to the next location, and of course he mysteriously appeared there as well Laughing
