Is it okay to talk about firmwares here? hell, I'll do it anyway.
I have iXtreme 1.61 I got specifically for RDR. Then I stopped playing x360 completely. Like, I didn't even turn it on for a year. Are there any games released already that won't work with 1.61? I really, really want to play...ehhr...L.A. Noire backup copy. This game is the only reason I keep console around.

In your case the game will more than likely require dash updated, and after that all AP 2.5 games (NFS HP, AC B, Fable 3, Halo Reach and CoD BO) will stop working, so you will need to upgrade to LT+ if you want to play AP 2.5 games. So if LA Noire has AP 2.5, you'll need to update to latest LT fw.

Unless your Drive doesnt support ap 2.5, like certain samsungs and hitachi's

Certain faqs claim both types have ap-proof models but I can't say for sure, mine's a Hitachi.

Still no sign of a release and it's now saturday.. that's pretty well done, to be able to keep a lid on it for this long, considering it comes out on tuesday in the US.

Red Dead was released about the same time last year, and was leaked the weekend before. Not unprecedented, especially for a game like this. Take 2 is taking no chances no doubt.

I've never quite understood why most of these get pre'd onto the web first and not usenet. I would much rather use my 56Mbps connection on usenet over some stupid torrent or p2p or ftp or direct download crap that is throttled to hell and back.
