i just could not get that coop launcher to work... the host just times out, and i did what the readme said - to start the client game first, then the host after, but nothing... and yes, both games are the same version.

Well, that's bad news.
Btw. Does the Skidrow Update 4&5 work for you without crashing every 15 min (approximately) ?
For me it crashes again and again, just like the 1.0 Skiddie release, before they released their crackfix.

i actually never bothered updating past the third update... finished the game and had zero crashes or problems, so meh... so either go back to the third update, or wait for update six and hope for a better outcome.

I will go back to Update 3 as it was rock solid for me.

Skidrow missed some triggers, like they did with the original release.

Valve just released the beta of Authoring Tools for Portal 2, free download for every owner of the PC version. You can get it from the Tools tab in Steam.
The Portal 2 Authoring Tools include versions of the same tools we used to make Portal 2. They'll allow you to create your own singleplayer and co-op maps, new character skins, 3D models, sound effects, and music.
Here's what's included:
- Updated version of Hammer, the Source level editor
- Updated Faceposer
- Example maps and instances to help build new maps
- Updated suite of command-line compiling utilities

i just finished the coop campaign in splitscreen on sunday
i actually much preferred the coop campaign over the singleplayer one
the whole singleplayer was a bit of a disappointment
p1 was a puzzle game with a story, p2 a story game with puzzles, but p2 coop is just puzzles front and center
and the puzzle quality is much better and harder too, just on the level that it should
it's like they were afraid to make the singleplayer too hard for derp players
yeah I happened to play the co-op campaign in split-screen too as I finished sp on my pc the night before leaving home for easter holidays, but my junior brother brought his 360 to the beach condo where we spent the holiday and we completed the co-op in 3 consecutive night sessions, it was a lot of fun.
I also preferred the co-op puzzles but I loved the sp story as well, for me it was a nice touch.
Unused(?) turret wife model uncovered thanks to the SDK. Notice the um.. vagina.

I have the exact same problem (crashes periodically) running it on my rig with the latest update (4 and 5)
Looks like it was the perfect time to install it

Ok, so for everyone who owns a PC but didn't buy the PC version of the game for whatever reason, how do we get the SDK? Valve, are you going to force us to purchase the PC version of the game in order to get the SDK? I bought the 360 version of the game because I have a bunch of friends who wanted to play the coop with me over xbl. Are you really going to make me pay another $60 for a game I already bought from you, just so I can use the SDK? Or am I missing something?

I demand to know why there is no hammer on ps3. Consoles are obviously much better than the ♥♥♥♥ty PCs. I can run every game I buy for the PS3 on ultra high. Valve needs to spend more time working with the PS3 (master race of gaming devices) instead of pleasing you poor pc♥♥♥♥.
Too bad I can't find the "WTF???? NO SDK FOR MAC????!!!!!!" thread anymore because they deleted it..

Obviously this guy can run Mafia 2 on his PS3 on ultra-mega-high.
