I think my console is about to die, after 15mins of playing i get a random color on the screen and cant do anymore except shutdown the console and start it again.
Its at least 3 years old and has already been repaired once, anyone had the same problem or got some tips on how i can try to fix my baby.

Welcome to the club, I've already seen 2 of my Xboxes having a stroke. The dvd drive on my 3rd (and current) X360 seems to be fucked for quite some time now. Game installation is prone to crashing now. I had to try like 30 times to get Crysis 2 installed. Took me 3 hours or so

I think you played too much Fallout 3, Pedo Perk acquired.
i've fixed 2 that were doing the same as yours, random lock ups, artifacts, etc before finally spitting out the RROD. i used the washers mentioned above. for the flat headed bolts i had to drill the holes on the chassis out just a tad larger. i also had to line the inside of the chassis with electrical tape because it was grounding out. i probably didn't use the proper bolt/screw combination but the E tape sorted that out easily enough.
after bolting it down, for good measure what you do is fire it up without any airflow over the heatsinks. play a game until it overheats and shuts down or locks up. then flip it over and tighten the screws another 1/4 turn or whatever you feel comfortable doing while keeping in mind you dont want to crack the board. do that immediately after it overheats.
the heatgun fix is only a temporary thing. i've done a few of mine that way several times and also have a friend who has borrowed my heatgun about that many times to do the same. it won't hold up. by bolting the heatsinks down you eliminate the balled solder joints underneath the chips from flexing and breaking which is what causes the problem.
Me too and I hope this will be the last one, it's a Jasper... this thing runs really cool, even after 4-5 hours
the thing here is that no matter what you will get a E74 [ana jumps from joints nothing holds it in place] or E73 [southbridge motherboard cpu jumps up]
X-camp fix my ass , when the main failure is bad solder ... i just gave my old one for rebaling of ana, gpu, cpu, southbridge this is a permanent fix
Lol so many 360s go kapput it's a joke.
I had 2 go on me b4 i went to ps3.
Yeah but remember: we got the 360 a full year before the PS3 was released!!1 OMFG
I'm not gonna complain though: if you want to play for free the X360 is an excellent choice
same with ps3, CFW it now and you can play all games pre 3.60 update
,as for me i buy games for my ps3... its kinda crazy but used ps3 games compared to xbox360 are cheap for the price of 60$ you can buy 3-4 used games !!!
