...and it seems GRID is praised by the humpers too. Am I really the only one who found that game really idiotic and boring?

nfscars.net wrote: | It has been so hard not to talk about this with all of you! Need for Speed The Run is a high-stakes, high-octane race from San Francisco to New York. You’ll be pushing 200 miles per hour, causing chaos in urban traffic or blazing along icy passes while battling hundreds of other racers (and cops!). This game has blockbuster written all over it. I’ve been lucky enough to get some precious hands-on time, and let me tell you, it’s going to be AWESOME!
The visuals are absolutely jaw-dropping. Thanks to the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the cars look killer, the environments look phenomenal, and the characters are engaging as ever. As you would expect, we’re upping the ante on Autolog as well.
This game will take Need for Speed to the next level.
I can’t share everything yet, but stay tuned for more news on NeedForSpeedTheRun.com as we edge closer to November 15, 2011! |

It's good news it'll be using a serious graphical engine.

Some news
Quote: | First and foremost, the game is indeed speeding toward a holiday release date of November 15, 2011 in North America (and Nov. 17 in Europe). EA Black Box is at the wheel (as rumored), with EA DICE's Frostbite 2 engine under the hood.
Additionally, The Run will feature the much-loved Autolog feature (as loved in Hot Pursuit and Shift 2), as well as the "hot cars and crazy-fast chases" we've come to expect from the NFS series. As seen in the trailer, the game will follow racers cross-country (Cannonball Run-style) from San Francisco to New York, with plenty of stops in between. EA's announcement also notes that "entering the race is just the beginning," with races taking place in "dense urban traffic," on "icy mountain passes" and "narrow canyons." Presumably we'll find out more about The Run as E3 approaches, this June. |

I used to love Pro Street and probably I still do but I have no interest in playing it anymore because we have Shift 2 now, which is an improvement of Shift, which may have been made partially because of Pro Street. I know Pro Street was pretty arcade, but it did that well enough for me. It was the concept of Pro Street that gave birth to Shift I think.

Explosions a-la Michael Bay->check
Helicopters->check
Ultra arcade driving model->check
(Probable) cheesy storyline->check
Franchise milking->check
A game for derps in the making
Actually the only thing that keeps my interest slightly alive is the use of the Frostbite 2 engine, as long as they don't fuck everything up, as usual.

The only thing I didn't like about GRID was the severe lack of derby tracks. They could make a game using that same engine and make the whole f'n game consist of the destruction derby races and I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Loved that figure-eight(ish) track with the crossing jumps. Damn that was fun.

Whatever the fuck it will be, it WILL feature dull and boring grinding just like every other NFS in the series... At least a LOT of newer NFS games are just like it.
Except for Undercover. That was pure shit.
