Yeah, I know, pitiful complaint. But someone before me posted something like that, so I just replied that I have the same issue. Not a big deal, but apparently it shouldn't happen.
And yes, I copied the crack correctly and even reinstalled the game once.

i know this was discussed a couple of times in the thread but i gotta ask: did anyone actually managed to play the cooperative mode with the SKIDROW version? me and a friend have been trying for 3-4 days now (trough hamachi) with the instructions that were posted earlier in the thread, but it always says that we`re disconnected at the end of the loading screen.

i`ve played a lot of games trough hamachi, but then i reinstalled the os. after that i`ve set up hamachi the same way i did last time. yes, we`ve switched roles and even modified steamclient.dll so that its a different name than SKIDROW. still nothing. tonight we`ll try tunngle or comodo vpn.

For me it doesnt matter if the host starts before or the client. Im always startin first as the host and then i tell my friends over TS to join the game, we had never a prob.

Keep an eye on these sites:

Several test maps with the new elements already built; they can't do everything yet, because they only have partial access (SDK not out/updated yet), and there's some Portal 1 ports in progress. There's even a (simple) coop map made already!

No need for any kind of VPN. Enable the console, type connect "server ip" and you are good to go.

I've just finished Portal 1 again (after more than 3 years..I remembered just a couple of puzzles  ), and now I can appreciate even more the great job done with Portal 2, both in terms of quality and quantity

@Werelds: Nah, I haven't tried the co-op yet (not a huge fan of it) but one of these days I'll probably try those guides at cs.rin and see if it works with the Skid version

Try Tunngle instead. Go in a Portal room and do this:
Client: type in console sv_lan 1
Host: type in console sv_lan 0
Client: type in console connect ''Tunngle IP''
Host: type in console map mp_coop_start for example
And your'e good to go. Works like a charm with Skidrow version.

thats exactly what i do but with hamachi. i`ll try it with tunngle tonight. 10x
