That's what MS was doing for years.

"Xbox exclusive!", "Only on Xbox!" and then they were releasing their games on PC as well.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Right...... That "rule" was established later after they received backlash for having no real exclusives.

Awesome, they're pointless. To quote RPS's preview of TW2:

More far-reaching for the game experience is the inclusion of quick time events (QTEs). These modes of interacting with action sequences certainly divide people, and the QTEs in The Witcher 2 divided me. That’s because some of them are pretty good – the QTEs for fist-based fights (as opposed to normal, lethal melee) are great. You use the WASD keys to time moves on your enemy, and you take a beating if you fluff it. There are other sequences, however, such as one in the prologue where you are being chased by a monster, where the QTEs fall into the standard trap of being irritating push-button cutscenes that might just as well have been non-interactive cutscenes for all the enjoyment they add to the game.

Yes fistfighting seems really good, for me it's an improvement over the first one (bit boring and lacking visual flair) and I hope it doesn't get skipped if QTEs are disbled. For the other ones I'll probably do better without them cause most of the time they just distract from what's happening on screen Smile

Very well said.

And, Sertorius, you really, REALLY, cannot compare Crysis with The Witcher. Wink

I know that too, I spoke about Crysis 2 not Crysis 1. The Witcher 1 was also an excellent game, no doubt about that. Just hate the marketing campaign of developers.

Just wait until CD P. Red shakes hands with (or gets bought by) EA. You'll have your point then. Wink

EDIT

GT posted now the streaming presentation.

Also, funny typical GT comments emerged. Just like this one:

Not rly- the rest of us will just have to wait for a two months or so. It's said that after PC release the whole team will focus on shipping the game to consoles. It will be probably officially announced in June at E3. Although I've already preordered the PC version on GOG I'm planing to buy the console version later and play it in better quality than on my NotSoGoodPC

He'll go next-gen baby Cool Face.

Looks awesome. I love my co-op games though. If they threw co-op in, I would buy this straight away in a heart beat.I might get this though just cause the 1st one was good even though I miss that one.

Also, there are even co-op derps in derpland lol wut

Means I'm interested in the game again if that is true. I fucking hate the "might as well have been cutscenes" QTE crap. It's completely unnecessary and adds nothing to a game.

Also, yeah this game will inevitably come out on consoles. You don't make a game so centered on a gamepad(radial menu etc.) and talk about how the engine is working on consoles just for shits and giggles.

Why even bother to include QTEs if you can just turn them off? Who in their right mind would want QTEs? Anyway, best news since downloadable localizations. Even chiv has faith in CDPR once again. Cool Face

I believe that shows that they are ready for console release. Because a lot of publishers require qte'

I'm not being facetious here. There are a lot of rules and regulations when it comes to publishing games on the console. CDR might be a polish publisher, and they might have GoG.com. But when it comes to publishing on console, they have a new entire rule set they need to follow to get the game on console.

Another confirmation form the same dev about QTEs, really good for me:
Quote:
Yes, that is obvious that you can't disable fistfight QTE - because it's tottaly based on that system.
But you can disable all other optional QTE in options and just watch it like normal cutscenes.

And some screens, detail level should be minimum from what the poster said
http://www.skillpoint.se/text/the-witcher-2-stor-bildspecial

EDIT: ok this is big, the dev siad that weather will influence combat mechanics like lighting spells doing more damage with mages taking advantage of this... OMG, Magicka Wink

EDIT2: 16:10 won't probably be in from the beginning cause they've still got some gameplay aspects to tweak that are considered top priority, but he said that they will pretty much surely support it with patches... let's hope it's not marketing Smile
