No, I really didn't know. I haven't been following the development of the game since now. It's not a problem though, those gels will be fun. thanks for sharing the video.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Yes, Valve gave them jobs and they developed the paint mechanic for Portal 2. I read it in a recent interview.

You're not mistaken at all. But the typical kneejerk reaction around here is people bitching about something. There was a thread quite some time ago where people were complaining that Valve sucked and they stole the idea for the first Portal game from a student project at Digipen. When in reality, they hired the people that created the game at Digipen (Narbacular Drop) and then created Portal based off that. Same with Portal 2. The students created a game called Tag (The Power of Paint) and were then hired by valve.

Apparently I was retarded with my math earlier. The countdown was originally set to expire at 10am EST on Tuesday, not Midnight like I thought. Anyway, they updated the countdown about 10 minutes ago I guess when "The End of the Wonderful World" finished. The new countdown ends at approximately Tuesday at 9:10am. So it looks like you gained a whopping 50 minutes from one game.

If they all averaged the same, that 13 hour number someone posted earlier could be fairly accurate. Smile

No you don't. You just have to play any of these games if you own any of them.

New lower price by Amazon, Best Buy, perhaps because they are afraid most people are going to get it directly from Steam instead of them, to play it earlier?

PC/MAC: 35$

PS3 + free PC/MAC: 45$

As you can see even the console version now costs less than what a PC game normally costs Laughing

Meh, if I'll buy it, I'll grab it on Steam, it's 34,19 EUR. Yesterday it was only 31,49 EUR, that's kinda odd Cool Face.

It's because the game isn't ready yet. Every day they add more stuff in it so the price goes higher Cool Face

As a little more realistic answer (As everyone likely knows the standard followed is that such additional content comes via DLC sold separately after all. Wink ) I guess the pre-order price discount was simply removed. Smile

EDIT: Oh right, I know Valve usually makes such content available for free or semi-free (TF2 Store / L4D2 "DLC") so the above is a little joke to clarify that just to avoid potential problems.

The preorder price is 34,19 euros. I should know since I paid this amount of money on "Tue Feb 15" (according to the Steam Store receipt I got by email).

31,49 is 34,19 but with the 1 and 4 swapped? Probably a mistake/joke by huxanomaly2?

Ah so that's it, good to know, I misunderstood then it seem, price is a bit different per region as well as most people here likely know already seeing how often it's discussed, here for example Portal 2 shows as 49.99 Euro but with that 10% off discount still active so the listed price is currently 44.99 Euro.
(Potato Sack promo would perhaps drop it to the above pricing level which was discussed above?)

EDIT: Damn it that price point is listed as well come to think of it.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/?cc=US
(187.86 Euro down to 74.46 Euro)

@consolitis: no mistake/joke, that was the price on Steam yesterday, at least in my region Smile. But I don't have any screenshots, so believe what you want, even though I'm telling you the truth Razz.

I really wonder how they decide which prices to charge and where.

I paid 44.99$ for the pre-order and the full price was 49.99$. So I guess it's like the US.

Though that's good for me since the Euro is 4.95, and USD is 3.42 against the NIS (Israeli currency)
