Has anyone been able to finish the fuckin tutorial?
Started game (successfully burned, using disc in drive, not mounted) updated to 1.1.
I get to the part in the tutorial where it says to place the Treasury, which I do.
The problem is that I am unable to change the fucking tax rate (either up or down) by clicking that fuckin coin purse. Its stuck to that third tab and won't move.
Tried placing it in a different spot, same problem.
Fuckin A+ beta testing devs, didn't even check to see if the tutorial was completable. Any work around for this?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

How can it run more smoothly then his if you have a less powerful machine?

From what I've seen, other people are having the same problem, it might be a 6800 series or nvidia related problem.

Possibly. I know someone who has a 6800 Ultra and splinter cell:chaos theory runs better on my ATI machine. Only after I enabled hardware shadows mind.

Well they added chat in multiplayer games, but theres no team chat, so you can only broadcast it to everyone...so much for setting up strategies.
Also the Multiplayer lag out issue still exists, if you play a game with alot of people most of the time it will just lag-freeze after a few minutes and never unfreeze until you quit the game.

It's running faster because the 9800xt is most likely running with dx8 paths, and the 6800 is running with dx9 paths.

I tried running the game with 1.4 and no pixel shader, didn't seem to make much of a difference.

dunno. I'll run fraps next time and see the frameage. I'm not noticing any slowdowns that can kill the game. Few hickups here and there but nothing to ruin my day over.
hehe, the game animations are awesome =]

9800xt is a dx9 card. Here are the settings I use when they ask for when you launch the game:
resoultion: 1280x1024x22 70hz (lcd native resolution)
textures: all the way to the right.
shaders: level 2.0, multipass, bump mapping, enhanced water all tured on.
level of detail: all options all the way to the right. Early Culling turned off (dont know what that is)
When you first load the game, it seems to take like a min or so to load up heh.

This is pretty fucked up.
I'm on the fourth mission in the "peaceful" campaign, and getting slaughtered every time I try.
Fires every fuckin minute , so msut build well every few feet, or else their slow asses don't save the buildings in time.
I try to use my Lord to slaughter the initial pack of wolves so that my woodsman can get timber, but considering it takes him 5 minutes to get there, by the time he does, the initial wave of bandits are attacking across the bridge. They slaughter my initial force "given" to me by the game, and rape the town.
The alternative is for me to set my lord with them, then only about half get slaughtered, but then I can't harvest wood. Eventual bandits/fires overwhelm, I lose.
Performs like shit, looks like shit, plays like shit, and aggravating as hell.
Tis a shame. Original was fun.

Is it possible to play without having to burn to cds? (don't have any at the moment).
I've tried to mount with newest alcohol and Anti-Blaxx but I still get "emulation detected" when trying to launch it. Anyone able to pm me a guide of how to do it? Thanks

Put the archers from that initial force on top of the keep, keep the spearmen and your lord inside the keep. The lord is a very powerful unit, so use him to defend the keep when the bandits invade. Always keep the archers safe.
After that, try to get stone from that other county that you were playing with, and recruit lots of archers

Free Build, or Multiplayer with agreed peacetime, this is where the game excels.

Well, I finally installed the game, and I must say that it is a very good game. Reminds me much to the old Stronghold, and everything runs great here, no problems at all with performance, all at max, 4xFSAA and 8xAF.

Is it possible to add AI to multiplayer games? I want to play coop with a friend of mine and I'm unable to add any AI players.
Should it be possible to play with AI?

Ok so how many people or who here managed to get this clone running by mounting it?
Further, as someone asked here earlier, can you play multiplayer with a friend together against AI, or is multiplayer human vs human only?

YES works by mounting it with daemon or alcohol 120% by using the program called Anti-Blaxx that was linked here earlier in which you select the game .exe and select the securom 7 protection, then rightclick on the anti-blaxx icon in the tray and choose run game- the game.
(which file to mount? well if you use daemon tools and have it set on its preferred fileformats when opening a file, you will only see 1 file of them all, that being the .bwt file)
Yes there is multiplayer but u can play either free build or free build with combat/ai.
