What does it mean if someone says a video card has been flashed. A guy down the street told me this about his video card.

Its a ATI Radeon X800PRO>XT-PE 256MB DDR3 AGP
He told me "it is a x800 pro flashed to a x800xt-platinum edition."

I don't know what this means so if anyone could fill me in it would be appreciated. Thanks.

It means he "upgraded" the bios of the videocard.
Meaning the x800 pro has now the settings and performance of a x800xt-platinum edition.

In most times this works, but other times it can decrease the lifetime of the videocard Smile
