|

How does piracy work for 3d movies? Is it even possible? I decided to get a 3D vision setup (for pc gaming) and realized you can watch 3D movies with it. However I am not sure how this could be done for free besides downloading 50+ GB bluray disc isos. I have a 250gb a month bandwidth cap so this is a non starter. I am going with the Nvidia 3D vision kit and am not sure if it matters. Is it possible to get rips of movies that work with it? Or are ISO's / actually buying the movies the only option? I'm a 3d newbie so could use a lot of help.

I got one 3D release earlier and it was just a movie with a blue/red offset like they used in 1950s horror movies. I also saw a Blu-Ray ISO of Avatar 3D which I know would work but it was fuck huge GBs. Nvidias 3D setup is advertised to work BR 3D movies, but that is with actual discs. They also say something about 3d video files and a special player they have based of MPC. The thing about all that is though, they expect you to use legitimate sources. I am just not sure if anyone in the scene is releasing 3d stuff. If you would need special file formats or players etc...

uh. whut?
3d works perfectly fine for piraty movies, and theyve been out for quite a while.. what do you mean you havent seen any?!
basically you get 2 pictures, side by side
then you use a player.. nvidia has one, but theres also one called stereoscopic player, and it combines the two images to give you 3d. easy as piss.
ive got 3 3d movies myself. no 3d vision kit, i have to watch em by using nvidias conversion shit (called discover, i think) to watch em with blue/red glasses.
but the movies themselves, are set up for whatever process u want to use.
point is: yes, it does work, no you dont have to get 50gb blurays. just look around. search for sbs or hsbs, and youll find them.

sueil, so far the only way you can do proper 3D is by 3DBD format and yes you are looking at 25-44GB per disc. You need a 3d monitor (not the samsung 22inch one) but any other one that came out after that one in order to be able to play 3DBD format with 3d Vision glasses.
Honestly, I like the 3D delivery 10x better through my 3dTV/ps3 then over my PC.
I just upgraded to 570's in SLI and will get the Acer 27 inch 3D monitor and report if its better. I hope this helps as the other replies didn't seem to focus on modern 3d delivery. I think its time to retire red/blue and side by side hahaha
fuck ...

what are you on about? you do not need to download full 3dbluray discs to get proper 3d.
side by side works perfectly fine and gives you the proper 3d effect if you have the glasses/monitor for it.

the hell are you talking about? side by side has nothing to do with that red/cyan stuff... i dont get either of you two. it contains the left and right eye as separate video in the file, then whatever 3d method you CHOOSE to use (nvidia 3d vision shit, 3d tv, or the red/cyan if you want), it combines the left and right eye video into the 3d type you want, so i have no idea what you two are on about.
why you lot dont consider this to be 'real' 3d is beyond me...
