so excited yet so depressed. i think shit like crysis 2, dragon age 2 and that need for speed game n shit have lulled me into a false sense of security, and raised my expectations of how well a game will run versus how good it'll look.
what im getting at, is that all those games i can run maxed out, and the speed is perfectly fluid.
i have a feeling... i just KNOW it... that witcher 2 is going to kick my pc's ass if i want to run it on its highest settings
and i dont want to experience this on anything less
------------------------------------
oh hey just thought of something.
they redesigned his face, yes?
collectors edition comes with a geralt head, yes?
do you think cdp:r cares enough to revise that as well, or do you think theyll just say fuck it and leave the original head untouched?
also, how long after the first game is this one set? i mean hes aged so massively, its gotta be like 20 years or some shit? or are they trying to amend the design and fix what was wrong in the first game? i dunno, im not that happy with it, i think they coulda pulled back atleast 5 or so years...

It takes place 2 months after the first game. It is a direct sequel to the story of TW1. He was always that old in the books, the model in the first game just didn't show it well.

Age is around 100 plus isn't it?
(Mutations slow down the process and aging effects but he's still been around for about 100 or so years.)

well why didnt they have him that old in the first game? or atleast fix it in the big update?
and more to the point, i thought he was an epic pimp... how the hell does he get laid looking like a grumpy 80 year old alcoholic? i dont care how big his sword is.
i just wish they would have scaled it back JUST a bit. not heaps, but just a bit.

well, he didn't exactly look young in the first, just not too old either. I don't mind the first witcher tbh as im a bit sceptical playing as an old fart. I'm sure it's awesome regardless.

Yeah, Vesemir is something around 160 or older, and still in fighting condition. Geralt is 90+ ( tough to say, but he IS old ).
Hard to say how old a witcher can get, not one died of old age.

And some would consider screens as spoilers.

No worries. I would surely forget too, but i'm not taking any chances. I love getting the wow feeling when exploring new amazing areas. Thats the part screens and extended videos takes away, and i don't really like that.

I wonder what bothered them more: the reminder that DA2 looks indeed pretty average or that The Witcher 2 will kick serious RPG butt?

Just imagine the extreme satisfaction of spending hundreds of hours on DA2, testing the gorgeous levels and amazing environments, implementing the complex AI routines and trying to fix all the issues in order to balance the waves of enemies in a realistic way...oh wait
