Which cars exactly? Because I've been driving the Giulietta, Lancer Evo 9, Skyline (Retro Jap) and Delta (Retro Euro). All of them stable as a rock (Giulietta the least of them all) - after tuning them properly. Default steering lock + tyre pressure alone on the Giulietta were AWEFUL, and you have access to those right from the start.

I don't think it's the engine underneath or input, I think the default setups are just not entirely optimal. The new tuning mode is bloody amazing, absolutely loving it so for me this is great, but I suppose a lot of people don't want to have to do stuff like this.

Then again, I highly suggest that you at least look at steering lock and tyre pressure, as that can fix a lot of "bad handling" - default setup is with fairly responsive and relatively pumped up tyres.

from the top of my mind ..
Golf mk 5 GTI with all upgrades or even stock
Lotus Exige, before i checked it up i thought that it didnt have ABS, well it does, yet the front kept locking up

Delta was rock solid, didnt buy it, only driven it when it was a 'lease' and it really rocked.
Yet it bought an AE86, with most upgrades i easely pass tuned Deltas.

This new mod (by juls) should completely fix the lag for those who are having problems:

Quote:
Here is a very minimal tyre mod which gives more reactive handling, without being intrusive. It contains two things:
- a .dll file which helps reducing controller input lag we have when framerate is low. This one should work with any wheel.
- modified tyres

It does not change grip levels, it does not change FFB, just makes the in-game steering react quicker to controller, and the tyres react quicker to steering.
As a result, it kills most of the floating some cars have on my computer, and the tyres are less forgiving as they reach their limit quicker.
AI seems to cope very well with it, and I have good driving sensations with it. Maybe you will feel the same.

Anyone know an app that will display CPU usage on screen over a game
Afterburner will only show stuff about the GPU usage etc

Seems the game is under utilizing both the gpu and cpu (quads)

Fuck this game. Every time i start it i think wow what a cool game this is yet i get bored after just a couple of laps. Whereas if i start rfactor i can play it for hours and hours maybe even for the entire day without ever getting bored of. And this game does so many things right compared to rfactor - graphics, proper career, car lots, money, upgrades, presentation.. but when it comes down to physics....
I'm looking at you mister ford shelby gt500 !! you're miles behind your rfactor counterpart !!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I pity every console gamer that is not able to install this fantastic mod! Finally I feel as if I have 100% control over my car!

Great mod! Smile

Anyone have a good tuning setup for the 350Z?
That thing controls like its on Ice. Not stable enough. Sways around (left and right) a lot while I try to drive in a straight line and corners are extremely hard to control unless I slow down to 20-30 km/hr.
Wheel (momo) settings I think aren't the issue since the D class VW and the even some of the A class (aston martin and alfa romeo from that event thing) cars drive fine.

Does anyone seem to have trouble with the cars handling.

i started out with a Honda Civic SI and was always top 1 on the podium of Modern D.

However strangely enough i started the modern C invitational event with the Lotus (totally Sh*t car) and did not even manage to get to 5th position and also Modern C the car is handling like a darn marshmallow after overheating it on open fire.

Can anyone advise a good guide for tuning and best cars to use?

Would be much more enjoyable to play that way at least i know what tuning or cars need to be used and done.

SLEEP, EAT, SHIFT

cheers
Rob

guy definitely get the mod

@robbygee:
The Lotus is super nice! It has a really good grip and goes into the corners like no other car Very Happy You'd probably like the Nissan GT-R Vspec very much, that car is very stiff and won't break out even in the hardest corners (unless you want it to break out!) Smile

Same happened to me. Top in all the D races. I do that invitational C race and I couldn't even keep the Lotus pointing straight ahead. It was way too f'n twitchy. ugh

i had this problem to but i figured out how to fix this : use an unmodified car ie no parts that adds more hp etc , handling/tired are ok though

some races however you need to max your car for examples rival races is impossible with a non tuned car
