I bought the third one on steam some weeks ago when it was cheap. I like the destruction, but I havent played it much at all yet.
Well apart from the insane destruction there's nothing really interesting to do..
The plot is quite banal and the game mechanics are rather repetitive at the long distance. Anyway it's overall an enjoyable game, perfect to give vent to pent-up anger
Yeah the first area is fine, but after that you keep doing the same thing over and over. I did play all the way through it, but only because I made it fun myself, by finding the funniest ways to destroy shit along the way
Gone is the Grand Theft Red Planet that many fans loved about Guerrilla; there'll be no cruising over the martian surface looking for weird rides to jack, before figuring out that the best way to clear missions was to sit back and snipe everyone from afar. Armageddon is a much more focused game, forgoing the open world for a linear experience. Don't confuse this game with Call of Duty though, as each major scene is still sandbox in its nature, with large open arenas - or killing jars as my host, Eric Barker, Studio Marketing Manager, explains - still begging for experimentation. But this time around you don't need to drive five minutes to find them, as they're all placed in a long flowing chain of increasingly destructive events.

This March -- for the first time ever -- you may have a non-ironic interest in watching a SyFy original movie. That's because the live-action Red Faction movie, now called Red Faction: Origins, will be airing on the network during that month, coinciding with the release of Red Faction: Armageddon. So that's what that other domain registration was about!
The two-hour "pilot" movie (meaning it'll be a series if it does well) takes place between the Guerrilla and Armageddon games, focusing on Alec Mason's last surviving son Jake, who fights against a new human army dedicated to destroying the Red Faction. Somehow, Jake's sister has gotten involved with this group. We can assume because it's a SyFy movie that she's also been cursed to turn into a weresnake at night, or that she arrives on a train filled with spiders who have been snacking on nitroglycerin during the journey.

THQ core games president Danny Bilson has tweeted that the movie – titled Red Faction: Origins – will begin filming in January prior to a May 2011 release. The launch of the movie will now coincide with the launch of Red Faction: Armageddon which is also slated to debut in May.

There's an id for a Red Faction Armageddon beta on Steam.. but probably it's for internal testing. It's been there for a couple of weeks I believe..

The last games in the Red Faction and Saints Row series of action games from developer Volition were released for the PC several months after their console counterparts. Part of the reason is that the PC ports were handled by other development studios. Using those studios caused some quality issues with both games. That won't be the case for the next games in these series, Red Faction Armageddon (due out in May) and Saints Row 3 (due out this fall).
According to a Eurogamer report, Volition studio manager Eric Barker confirms that the PC ports of those titles will now be handled internally by Volition. Barker states, " ... I'm really happy with how Red Faction: Armageddon looks on PC. It's beautiful." And what about the threat of piracy for these PC games? Barker states, "First and foremost, we want to make sure we're making a game people would want to pirate. Let's make a game that's worth stealing, and then we'll worry about making sure they don't."

Good to see THQ doesn't price it at 60$ as EActivision do for their games.
