Hmmm What about selecting a different version of EAX within the game's sound setup <if it has 1>? I use the RealTek ALC655 WinXP Driver A3 70 & have had *no* problems with any game I have played. Install all latest Winblows Xp updates & SP2? Look in BIOS & see if sound card is using standard IRQs, etc. Maybe its sharing an IRQ with another card - try disabling COM1&2 & putting sound card on IRQ 3/4. Confused

Well after trying the reloaded version everythings works fine on my end so the problem is obviously a hardware one and not the crack for those who as been having issues with it.

It could also possibly be a software problem as well. I'm sure many of us have much different set-ups in both software and hardware, so I doubt there's some quick fix or tweak we can perform.

Not too sure I want to play this game just yet anyway. I want to play Psi-Ops more honestly.

I can't even get into the game to try the setup unfortunately Smile Turning off sound accel should force EAX off automatically anyways.

I haven't had problems with any games previous either, this is the first one that's given me issues. I think it may have something to do with a Windows update however, so I'll give everything an update tonight to see if that helps any.

I don't think it's a Windows Update problem (LOL, out of all things); I updated two nights ago after MS' usual Patch Tuesday.

My specs are:
P4 3.2E @ 3.8Ghz
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe
2Gb Hynix PC3200, Dual-channel (memtest stable w/ my overclock)
BFG 6800U O/C
SB Audigy 2 ZS
Approx 1TB of space
Dual 500w Sparkle PSU's

Everything updated, drivers, firmware, patches, updates, etc, etc, etc.

I definitely wouldn't waste any time on this if it didn't work immediately (it did for me, shrug). I uninstalled it after about 5-6 missions, as the game is a piece of shit. It's plagued with console-itis, one of those ports where they don't even take even the slightest amount of time to make the game PC-friendly. The retarded targeting system they use might be acceptable when you're stuck using a gamepad but it flat out sucks when you're using mouse+keyboard. Graphics look like PS2 quality, except higher resolution, sound is nothing special, nor is the gameplay or story for that matter.

Might be a pretty weak time for games to play, but I'd rather do work at home than play this kind of garbage.

I found the history in Second sight great, it really drew me in, about Psi Ops I can't say anything, because as far as I know there hasen't been a release of the pc version yet.

This problem is usually caused by the soundcard. If you have an onboard soundcard, then chances are that the game is not going to work, unfortunately. If your motherboard has an onboard card, which you are not using, make sure that it is disabled in your system BIOS and that all registry entries referring to the card are deleted. The easiest way to do this is as follows:

Boot the computer into safe mode (press f8 as your PC is starting) and go into the device manager (right click my computer > properties). Delete all the entries relating to your onboard soundcard in Sound Video and Game Controllers (it doesn't matter if you delete some current devices, because Windows will reocgnise them when you re-boot).

Reboot the computer and try the game again.

Otherwise support is avilable from the "Customer Support" section of our website.

I've deleted most of the protection bullshit and off-topic stuff.
Discuss the protection shit in specially made forum for this.
Also use the technical thread next time for the problems.

USE THIS THREAD FOR IN-GAME DISCUSSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how hard can it be people? This time it's a warning, next time I'll ban people
