Fuck , i hate this kind of behaviour , keeping something worthless , that you'll never use just for the sake of having it

god damn it my grandmother does this , she even keeps the plastic cups of yogurt and shit like that, i threw out about 50 old magazines or more and that wasnt even the tip of it , she's got another fucking house with a room i haven't been in for over 10 FUCKING YEARS and the last time i've been in it , it was stacked neck high with bags stuffed with clothes , i'm more than certain it's probably rat infested by now.

it's going to be a nightmare when i'll have to clean this shit up even if in 10 years or more until then (she's 72) , i can't hire anybody since she keep valuables hidden in clothes and shit like that.
i'll have to rent a god damn truck or something and it'll take a least a fucking week to clean both houses , i don't even know what to fucking do with most of the stuff ..

even my dad kinda does this , he doesnt throw shit away since he could use it , sure he could , be he won't so no point in it being fucking there , it's just taking up space so he won't be a fucking help at all

just fucking thinking about this angers the shit out of me since i'm more tidier in my family and hate having junk lying around

also , there's no point in leaving the problem for the future since it won't go away , if anything it'll get worse

I remember seeing something like this on TV. Some old guy hoarded everything, even his garden was full of stuff. The council came round to clear it out and they found an old WW2 German military motorbike amongst it all.

It is a mental disease. Hierofan, your grandmother has a real problem. ...and nothing you do or say is prob going to help her. Just go through all her shit before you throw it out.

My grandma is like that as well. Although i don't think it's a disease - she's been through a lot during the war - so she thinks she needs as much stuff as possible to survive another one. She keeps whole boxes of canned food, flour, sugar, salt, pasta etc just in case. Sad

It is a mental condition. Like OCD.

My Uncle was like that. You had to put one foot right in front of the other to go through the pathways around the garbage in his house. He had 100 broken unbrellas, random shit he picked up from garbages.

It is more common with people who have been through the war.

my grandfather had a light version of this. But he never stored the stuff inside the house. My grandmother would probably have thrown him out, lol. So he stored lots of scrap behind the garage. He was actually now recently been able to throw some of it away because he sees because of his age he would never be able to finish these "projects". But he is the kind of guy that will use a landmower until it breaks down. I kinda like this old fashioned way of thinking. They also refused to buy a new TV before the old one stopped working. They now finally have a LCD TV tho Very Happy

My grandmother suffers of the same "disease": she collects and "stores" everything, from old dolls to jars that she finds in dumping grounds, as well as (empty) boxes, broken ornaments etc.. Her house is like a huge useless bazar Laughing Crying or Very sad

I sometimes watch that hoarding program. It's the animal hoarders that get me, they find dead cats, dogs etc buried under all this shit and then they say "oh dear dear, well we'll take these animals you have and that's that.." What about the prosecution of the people for mistreating these animals.

lol when I went into my new apartement I brought ~200-300 cds/dvds with me and checked each and single one for their content over several days. turns out that 95% of that was pure garbage with old shit I don't care about (like mp3, movies, software, games). Took a scissor and scratched all cds properly.. I'm now thinking about a proper way to get rid of em Very Happy

Label the box with "[your most annoying neighbor's name]'s stash of child porn" and leave it near the trash bin. Someone curious is bound to look at it closer. Cool Face

Ya, same here. My desktop is a mess. Useless DMG's everywhere, which I can find again, but throw them out? Misc web address not bookmarked. Random useless files. Photos, that should be thrown out or filed away. A few songs. Some Pokemon jif. WTF?

I am a Eclectic mess! <----new f/b status.
