This guy review is a must see
Quote: | This game is amazing feels like the new baldur's gate. Best game in 2011 easily. not sure where to start !

Difficulty:Very Hard
Time Spent:10 to 20 Hours
The Bottom Line:"Amazing"First of all I'm not sure where to start I guess I can start by saying Biowares games are all incredibly well made.My knowledge of their games so far is both mass effects and dragon ages and also I believe they have made both KOTORS as well. their games all have their traditional stamp on them, and are unique to their own element and have the classic bioware feel. I think they even made the legendary baldur's gate and neverwinters nights. All fantastic rpg games, that are not neglected or rushed in anyway. This company values their games and puts hard work into them, in my personally opinion anyway. I look for the small things in games like small flaws , and parts where companies fail to put 100% in their games, this company does not do that. I know nothing personal about the company, I only know what my experience as a gamer dictates.
First of all if you have played dragon age one, you will notice some differences. Such as the graphics and combat system, and the way the hero is implemented. I find it absolutely remarkable that my hero actually talks, I love it. Most games you will never hear real in voice dialogue from the main character I find this one of the best features to have. Even dragon age 1 didn't have this. There is of course very good character detail, you can build him/her in many different ways. Facial expressions are all very dynamic and well done. You can see your character snort in indignation, lower his abilities in mistrust, shift his body in discomfort get angry sad happy.
Second, let me mention the graphics. They are nothing short of remarkable, there is also the option of downloading a custom high res texture pack (slightly over 1gb) which helps to boost up graphics even higher, which I had no complaint in the first place. I have a very beefy pc system, I run a quad core 3.6 ghz overclocked pc with a powerful gtx 460 GPU. For those that complain about needing a beefy system, well basically you get what you paid for. I will gladly pay top dollar for my own enjoyment. I work hard, so I want the best. Currently I can only play on high settings with some of the advanced options off, but Bioware is in the process of releasing a new patch which can fix this. It's not that my pc can't handle very high settings, but dx11 needs an update or something on that level, which Bioware is in the process of working on. Furthermore, you can really enjoy the detail of the city and of the landscapes. You can see sweeping battlements, with hundreds of slits, sweeping oceans, mountainsides and cliffs all with fantastic detail. This is not simply a game created it is a world. I've noticed you can even have a simple conversation with someone in the city and people will walk behind and continue to live their lives in the city.

Amazing how he can tell DA2 is a true spiritual successor to a game he never even played.

The guy basically states that he never played anything that bioware made before mass effect. That guys opinion makes itself invalid and shouldn't be read by anyone.

I just recently played thru this game now and I'm very twisted in what I think.
Too me it seems like a game that wants to be everything, yet can not capitalize on anything. Much like a swizz army knife.
After the demo I decided that I shouldn't compare it to DA:O, also I have nothing against action-rpgs so while I have enjoyed this game I think it's sad downgrade from DA:O. As many say, if it would had been a spin-off it would had been great. The whole setup, with a new hero in another part of the world, it would had worked great as a spin-off. I just don't feel anything in this that I thought made DA:O so great. Still though, great dialogs and the story are for most parts good, eventhough I think it started better then it ended. However, great to see not the typical fantasy-road-movie-story that most fantasy movies, games and books are using...a few good heroes traveling the world to vanquish evil.
For me a very mixed bag....disappointed in it as a sequel to DA:Origin, yet I did enjoy the game for what it was.

Oh it's just an innocent mistake, I'm sure.
Just like the case of the guy that was banned from the forums and couldn't play DA2 a while back.
Great job Bioware and EA.

Is it just me, or are some of the characters Emo? Anders is always butthurt, whining about something non-stop ... oh yes, and raging. It seems so forced, so artificial - not at all like a believable character? What happened to the funny/entertaining/childish Anders of Awakening?
Fenris is basically brooding all the time. He's the typical emo victim, nothing works out for this poor lad. I can't connect with him. The whole small body/huge weapons don't work either.
But Merril is the worst of the bunch, she's basically an anime archetype. She even has the looks of an anime character, but what really confirms it is the little loli naive girl, who is shy, doesn't recognize humor and has a dark secret. Typical anime shit.
The only people in the party I'm really having fun with is Isabella and Varric.

Erm what "No Armor Upgrade"? It's the only thing you can actually do, buy the upgrades or find them, and if you romance them also they get a upgrade.
