I re-installed a friends notebook today and it had an "instant os" on it. I guess it's something similar to linux. And I thought this would be grate for my arcade notebook that I have at home. So I ask you now what os start fastest and at the same time work with this emulator frontend that run on linux.

I've heard good thing about CrunchEee, perhaps that's worth a try. Besides that, Debian is pretty light-weight on its own, Linux Mint works very well, as does Ubuntu Netbook. Plenty of choice Smile

The instant O/S will indeed be some Linux version as well Wink

Some linux variants have better hardware detection, so it would be (a lot) easier to use them in the beginning. I'd recommend ubuntu/xubuntu or something similar (jolicloud for something more basic/pretty/simple, crunchEee is also pretty good).
