Yeah I noticed that too. Why would rockstar make such a misstake in the readme? It doesn't make any sense....
I haven't seen any official specs anywhere eiter.....

Following up on Sunday's "San Andreas PC Exclusively on DVD?" news, I made some calls and it turns out San Andreas PC will indeed by shipping on a DVD. A kind bloke at Take 2 tech support with a UK accent confirmed that because the game is so large, it will be shipped on either a dual layer DVD disc (DVD-9) or perhaps a single layer DVD disc (DVD-5). He also let me know that the system requirements will be released closer to release date.
So while on Sunday there was still a possiblity that those without DVD readers will be able to play San Andreas on PC, that hope has been lost and come June you will have to cash out for a DVD reader.

I just tried MTA 0.5 and yes, they finally implemented an anti cheat protection. And it works so good that even people who don't cheat get kicked because it 'suspects that a trainer may be used'......But before I was kicked and kicked again I actually killed someone by piledriving him! Something that didn't work in the older versions because the characters were moving 10 meters in 1fps...
so some minor fixes and improvements but my opinion: Still not playable |
Not even worth the time to play these until MTA: Blue is released. Once thats done it might be sweet, they have some great ideas behind it. For now the standard MTA is crap though.

I think MTA is good..
But there's ONE reason that I don't use it..
It's because I can't shoot people.. 
I can stand still, the other person can too, and I shoot at him..
The blood is coming out of him like crazy, but he never dies..
I tried in LAN to see how it was there..
So I stood in front of the other guy, and started to shoot at him..
On my screen, every bullet hit him..
On his screen, every bullet passed him many meters away from him..
So I started to turn away from him, so the bullets would hit, and then, finaly, when I was pointing a direction far away from him, he started to loose a little bit health..
kinda lame, eh?
Hope they fix that in MTA:Blue..
I hate you.

The draw distance is considerably higher in the PC version when compared to the PS2 version.
Real reflections on buildings can be seen in a screenshot. Real reflections will also be visible on cars and shiny floors.
The German version will be censored of blood, you also won't be able to mug people for money.
You can forget washed out textures from the PlayStation 2 version. The PC version will not be a 1:1 copy of the PS2 version, but a whole new graphical experience.
It is not yet confirmed how the 2-player mode will work on the PC.
The PC version will allow you to import your own MP3 for listening on the radio. You can even specify an MP3 folder on your hard disk, which the radio will play songs from between advertisements and DJ commentary.
As of writing the preview, the game is 90% complete and ready to be released in June (June 7 in USA and June 10 in Europe).
