As I mentioned it's backwards compatible and runs under DX11 mode but with the exclusive functions disabled which is the displacement shader effect (It's not tesselation, only affects the surface textures.) contact hardened shadows (Softened edges for them.) and the additional lighting pass (Far more refined bloom and glow effects on objects, demanding though.)

Also in that post a bit up 267.24 isn't the newest driver and NVIDIA has performance issues with the game supposedly improved in the later (Was it .30 something or .50 something 267?) drivers though more updates are planned.

INI was something I posted back for the demo and every single setting carried over along with all explanations but here's what I use.

 Spoiler:

The GraphicsDetailLevel=3 defaults to 2 unless it's write protected but everything else will work, for audio problems try enforcing stereo output instead in the audio options.
(GraphicsDetailLevel=2 is just fine, high and v.high are identical minus the DX11 specific options.)

As posted before here's those screens and comparisons again.
http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,814915/Dragon-Age-2-im-Techniktest-Nur-DirectX-11-bringt-Maximalgrafik-mit-Bildbeweis/Rollenspiel-Adventure/Test/

And more of my own images.

(DoF is active at close up zoom so some images are a bit overly blurry, sorry.)

EDIT: No patches that I know about, I can upload Black Market but it won't work without a serial unless the decryption tool is updated and that's a guess since I imagine other stuff has been changed as well.
(DLC is free for everyone so should be OK compared to Exiled Prince which is 7$ or CE only, other items and misc are already in-game such as well most other items on the DLC list. - http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_%28Dragon_Age_II%29 )

Well, I find the combat easy. You can basically solo melee mobs without losing a single hit point on nightmare. You just manually dodge, when they are about to hit. Easy peasy.

Combat has been really dumbed down - I'm around 8 hours in, and I find the combat ... dull and very repetitive. Definitely not cRPG territory here.

295GTX and game also allows me to select DX11. I guess that's mislabeled.

from what I've read, dx9 is medium, dx10 is high, and dx11 is very high and to get to the high and very high setting you have to enable it by having a dx10/11 card then you can choose whether you play in high or very depending on your card.

I'm playing at nightmare and it's quite a effort to bring down teams of AI troops without pausing and planning ahead, Varric the dumb-ass usually runs around when someone gets near so I've accidentally aggroed way too many troops one more than one occasion and the AI improvements are pretty nice.
(As said though enemy health is way increased on that level and they use potions and abilities like crazy, rogues are lethal due to their stun/knockback stuff and backstab.)

EDIT: Materials and the new item level (star) is pretty confusing at first, you can have this nice Aurum (tier 9 in DA:O) longsword but only one star so when you get a two-star axe at red steel (tier 5 in DA:O) it can be far better, similarly one-handed high-star gear beats high-material two-handed items easily so it's a bit confusing, nice armors and all as well but the re-used weapon models (And they use the high-quality unique ones a lot now.) are a bit funny to see as common near-junk grade.

EDIT: Ahaha I went to the red light district, found a elven girl in the club and paid for service and then returned and she starts talking in a really deep manly voice.
(Didn't get any dialogue conversation options either, just fade to black.)

(Was meant to showcase the other main DLC but it kinda "backfired" on me.)

Is posting CRC32's allowed here?

I want to post the CRC32 of the cracked game exe to make sure it's the same as what you guys are using to play. If you right click the .exe file and add to Winrar archive, the crc32 will show in the far right column.

If you consider those bad, than yes. I've been playing the consoleversion and compared to those, it looks very nice at 1680/1050, with DX11, High Textures and most bells and whistles on. I generally don't play RPG's for the graphics, so it's all in the eye of the beholder.

e: although admittingly, my facial experssions don't look nearly as flat as those in the last screenshot of his.

Latest for your card are these: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-267.31-beta-driver.html

Do not wait for WHQL ones only, there's no reason at all.

DA2 in DX11 however is bugged for the time on nvidia cards, I don't think installing that new driver will fix it, you have to wait for newer ones.

It completes the installation and then i find only 2 folders with a couple of dlls.

Do you use the clone-DVD ? if yes, in fact it is already installed when you unrar all files after DL. You just have to config your hardware with the config tool included. And copy the crack. I wanted to install properly the game too, but each time it was completed in 2 seconds only Very Happy

NVIDIA users should use 267.26.
266.58, 267.24 and 267.31 have performance problems with this game, especially with ambient occlusion enabled.
