You sure? At least in Europe, there are already several reviews out, atleasttwo alone in Germany. |
Well, like i said, embargo are denying freedom of the press, Europeans have more balls then Americans. Americans are scared of every little threat

NDAs are standard fare in Europe, too. I remember Intel doing that regularly, and it's not against press law. Think of it as a kind of contract: A company gives out pre-sale examples of a new product to certain press people under the obligation to not write pubish anything before a certain date. If somebody does not like these conditions, she will have to wait for release date like all others. No breach of any press law there.

Yep, they were supposed to place a review in their new issue. It's a Belgian/Dutch mag btw.

If xbox were to ban everyone using a jtag or anything of that nature, they would loose 70% of their users. Thats why they ban consoles on certain dates. Such as before christmas, or when americans get their tax returns. |
70% of users are not using a modified console. A sample of your friends is not a proper sample of the random XBOX user.
And review embargos is hardly censorship; you can argue that publishing houses have the greater hand in their relationship with the press - but the press is, and always has been - free to not play "the game". They choose to.

Yeah? Do you know how many game shops illegally sell modchips in america? Lots. I can go down the street to my local game store, and their will be people talking about PS3 being Jailbreaked, Jtags, etc. Hell, thats where I bought my swapmagic for ps2.
I will tell you this, 90% of the time whenever I go buy a console game at some game store, their is at least one person talking about the new revision of some firmware for the jtag, or jailbreak.
Lots, and lots, and lots of people have hacked xbox'. They just dont know how to use newsgroups, let a lone something as simple as torrents, they get their xbox tagged, then pay some dude 10$ to burn them a game. Stats don't add up because 60% of the people that have there xbox jtaged are buying games from one dude.

LLOOLL i was just about to quote that line. The console fanboys will soon blame the fact that the internet was created on a PC and thats why we have piracy.

I guess it all depends on how hard it is to disable that date check Bioware built into the game. Because they built it in so that even if people get the game early they can´t play it before the release date. Has that been done before?? If yes, did a group manage to crack it??

The real culprit isn't the PC...it's the internet!
See, without the internet pirates would have no way to distribute their wares.
'cause it's not like piracy existed 30 years when they used cartridges, no no, it's a modern thing.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Do the developers just hold onto the PC version longer or something? Xbox and ps3 release are always out a week early.

If there's a online check game can be only launched at that time, guess some files are update/downloaded when you launch it and checks for rls date and so on, dunno exactly how it works, but if it doesn't have a rls date check we can expect a early leak plus, scene rls maybe.

I know for a fact that it does have a release date check. One of the producers of the game said so. I think it´s even in a sticky on the official forum. Though I don´t know if it´s an online or offline check. Although it would be kinda stupid of them to build it in and then use the version (offline) that can be easily cracked.
