Out of all the xbox players I know 7/10 of them has a jtag or whatever. I'm talking about friends in real life as well, not internet buddies.

The characters would have their own inner conflicts, they would be true three dimensional characters with believable motivations, and deep emotions. Did you just described the Baldur's Gate saga?!

The only two people I know (IRL) that DON'T have modified Xbawks machines are my brother and my brother-in-law -- my brother WANTS his done, but he has the 360-S so there's no hack out just yet. But of course there's no piracy on the PS360, it's only those filthy PC gamers .... definitely no such thing as pre-release leaks on consoles, nope, definitely not.

I have to agree, I recently went through baldurs gate 1 and 2 (without mods). And well, it was fun for sure. But it's not as rewarding anymore. As I know the story, and most if not all side quest.
I have very few games left to play that i missed during university years. (Which at this point in time, Gothic 3, and Stalker is all thats left) Before I catch up to the derpness its looking really sad.
PC Specs: A Maganavox' Odyssey
Tweaked to play Frogger, Lemmings & GTA4

What's the best BG2 mod to use and just how much does it "change or add"? Loved BG1 & 2 back in the day but never really looked at any of the mods.

gotta share this... Even though I don't post much I follow this thread and I agree with many "derpification" points made here.
So, i was checking the torrent for the game and there was this amazing comment...

This comment is so simple and yet so exaustive that explains everything has been said about derps.

Will be fun to play trough DA2 at least once or so, unfortunately while I had a near perfect save for DA:O and most DLC up to Witch Hunt I deleted the wrong save when using a different character so lost all that, really should start the full replay of it soon but it's kinda late now, pre-made character start points or happenings or how it works are a bit more expansive than how ME2 handled it but there's a lot of stuff missed.
(And as the demo points out it's Origins, Shale, Keep, Awakening, Mines and Witch Hunt that needs to be covered, heh next week will be busy if I'm to manage that haha! - Save editor saved most of that for ME2's playtrough but alas something similar was never created for Dragon Age or it would ease things considerably.)
Wonder which one is considered the most "canon"...
(Perhaps the path were the warden has a group orgy celebration? - http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1176 )

Well think about this, IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers will all give dragon age 2 a 9.0+ right ?
Because we know all American Journalism doesn't exist even on video game oriented websites. I believe their worried about the euro reviewers who will complain about the derpness, no isometric camera etc.

I've read it in an article about the current state of publisher/media relations. Very honest article I must say, first time I saw such an article in a big mag. I think they were a bit pissed since they had to postpone three promised major reviews.

Do you know, legally, why they are able to place these "Embargos" on gaming journalist? I would "assume" that, this is denying freedom of the press in a lot of countries.

Not sure why people insist on having the Console/PC piracy debate - PC piracy is more egregious because there's no real method to punitively curb it; the incentive to not pirate on the Xbox/PS3 is to continue enjoying the benefits of Live/PSN Home - there is no such benefit on the PC. So of course PC piracy is going to get more attention.

If xbox were to ban everyone using a jtag or anything of that nature, they would loose 70% of their users. Thats why they ban consoles on certain dates. Such as before christmas, or when americans get their tax returns.
