I have a legit version of Office 2010 activated on my PC. I am running a pirated version of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition and I am getting prompted by OS that my hard disk is about to fail. If I get I buy a new hard drive and install Winodows 7 Enterprise would the activation of Office 2010 still work.

I'm not sure how is operating system linked to software and it's activation?

I am not sure either this is why I was asking. Maybe it reads the serial number or something. I do not know. I do know that hardware configuration is part of the activation.

Well it shouldn't be... So you should be safe. I mean it works on your pirated ed of W7 so why shouldn't it work on another pirated W7? Smile

Shocked

That's not the case with me. It activates the product with zero hassles. The latest version of the activator is 2.2.1. ....

activation for a legit version of office 2010 should not be an issue.
you can usually get away with 2-3 online activations but even if it fails use the phone option and when the system asks, select the option to say its installed on only 1 PC

I've reinstalled my office 2010 a couple different times (after format/new computer), always activated fine.

Usually I'd pirate the hell out of it but for the $10 'home use' license is a pretty good deal Smile

basically if your work pays for a license you can get a home license for close to nothing Smile
(wonder if apple does the same Wink)
