Hi

Temporary solution for 16:10 resolutions:
http://forums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=764944.

ATI users can use for eg. Powerstrip for this. Create a custom resolution, activate it, then under advanced timing options shrink the screen until it's clean and sharp. Ingame select the new resolution.

Further screens though I focused on a particular AI companion bug here and then bouncing that fruit trap creature thing on my head a bit via the physics system, other than that just more visual images focusing on environments.

(HUD automatically fades after a while but I tried to remove it in those first images with terrible results.)

Heh, decided to give this a try - played the first two levels and thought "guess it's not too bad"... And went back to play Civ 4. Kinda hard to be satisfied with marijuana when you're addicted to crack cocaine already. Very Happy

Does anyone have a savegame/unlocker for FLT release? I beat it using gfwl with tinker serial but it seems savegames -as usual- are encrypted to each user.

Does the gfwl still authenticate on copy using another unactivated game?

This game is great. I cant stop playing it!!!! The only difference between this and 360 version is framerate (50-60 for pc offcourse).. Resolution is the same 1280x720 Laughing If I go above, framerate goes crazy. Also aa is demanding so I am playing with it of.

Shadows option isnt doing anything actually?

Iam lovin it:D Boot is never getting old... And i always laugh ,looking at the skillshot list and seeing "Shoot guy in the ass" Laughing

i think the black borders are there because unreal engine 3 has a problem with wide screen resolutions

remember bioshock 1 & 2 had a problem with widescreen cutting part of the image off

That was a developer decision. If it was an engine problem, fixing/tweaking the FOV would not have been possible.

Fixed.

Even after updating to SP1, installing Catalyst 11.2 and reinstalling, the game still exhibits problems for me. I can either get a constant 60+ FPS with shadows that bug out, as well as any lens flare causing a diagonal split in image gamma, or I can fix those 2 issues and have it drop to its low 20s.

Played it through to 4-3 I think, and it was getting a bit tedious at that point. I already ran out of new shots to pull off (apart from the 4-5 new ones you get every chapter), and the quicktime events still annoy me. It's been fun up to this point, but not brilliant. For that the control scheme is too console oriented, the hit detection fails too often and just the complete lack of any proper testing on the PC (just look at the resolution issues alone, lmfao) Smile

Like I said in a previous post, much potential.

Are you running the game in 16:9 or 16:10 resolution? I have a 16:10 monitor, and I get horizontal borders in 16:10.
First I thought that the game was anamorphic so it was supposed to be that way, but after testing the game with 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions, I'm pretty sure that there is something wrong with my Nvidia driver.

At 4:3, I get even bigger horizontal borders instead of normal sized Vertical borders, and with 16:9 the image gets squashed horizontally, plus the borders.

I have tried to change the behaviour of Nvidia Scaling, but the control panel won't save the changes, so I'm stuck with my Display's build in scaling.

They stated the narrow FOV in Bioshock was a design decision afaik.

I finished the campaign and I believe this is the most entertaining derp shooter I played since "CoD: Modern Warfare". Some of the one-liners are worthy of John McClane.

Stupid question but... those with the black borders on a 16:10 screen... have you tried 1920x1200?

I have a 16:9 screen with 1920x1080 and I don't have those black borders.

Laughing

The problem is the game forces the viewport to 16:9, so you with such a monitor is not a very good point of reference. Smile There have been several games with 16:9 aspect ratios. I don't see the fuss is all about - don't see people moaning that movies are not 16:10.

Movies can only be shot at one aspect ratio obviously. You can' shoot at both 16:9 and 16:10..

Games, can be rendered at whatever ratio you want.

Of course you could say that perhaps the game was designed with a specific ratio in mind, and choosing another one means you aren't seeing what you are supposed to see.. which is a bit like pan and scan 4:3 movies..

But if possible why not provide the option?

Yep. We had this discussion back with the first Assassins Creed, which was also viewport-locked. If this is the way the designers wanted the game to look, then there is nothing wrong with that. Perhaps on 4:3/5:4 monitors I can some issue, but on a 16:10 monitor the letterbox bars are so tiny, who cares.

I just finished the game and I loved it. However I notice on the main menu the "chapter select" button is greyed out (even though I already finished all the missions) so I can't select which chapter I want to replay. Does anyone has this problem? I'm playing on FLT's release.

I don't know what has surprised me more in this thread...

That half of the posts I read praise the game?
Or that half of the guys here claim the graphics look blurry and bad?
