jep i can confirm that the patch works to get it on hdloader/hdadvance and working i also read that some dude managed to get it on a dvd5 and working

yerp, i can confirm that the game runs off HDL/HDA. however i'm having a slight problem, after 1 week... it seems to freeze on me. i'm currently at 10% completion of the game. the game tries to load from the disc or something, coz u can hear the laser.. then pow.. goes to a black screen or either the GT loading screen. anyone else got this prob?

I've read on another forum that this release doesn't work with most older modchips.

The game will run off HDA/HDL as long as the image has been patched, and this will work off any modchip.

Total ownage racing with the good old volvo 240 I just hope I wont have any problems winning it....... Are there any old school saab's in the game? Fuck all the new cars, they are not my style one bit. Early 90's cars is ok but 95+ just sucks. finally the patch is outttttttt Team TOXiC Dual Layer Image Patcher v1.0 here it is the wait is over As many of you are probably aware, the PS2 has problems running DVD9 games backed up onto dual layer media due to to problems reading from the second layer. This is because the data format on burnt DL discs is different than on pressed discs (burnt = OTP, pressed = PTP). However, we have discovered a software hack which allows the PS2 to read even burnt OTP discs resulting in working dual layer backups! Our Toxic firmware for DMS4 chips already includes auto-patching functionality which applies our software hack on the fly when booting games on dual layer media. For those without a DMS4, we present the Toxic Dual Layer Image Patcher! The patcher works by applying our software hack to the game image (.iso, .gi etc) before burning. Once the hack has been applied by our patcher, burn the modified image to dual layer media and play! This method will enable anybody with a modchip capable of booting DVD9 media to backup and _play_ DVD9 games such as Gran Turismo 4 greattttttt i have try with xenosaga and works perfectly

its the first time swap magic is letting me down ... no way to get it to run even though i have a dl burner ... crying .... i can only play when my nephew comes round with his original ... crying .... i'm stuck playing Forza on the xbox ... crying .... omg i'm actually contemplating buying the game I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

i have the orginal Gt4 pal version, do i just create a iso file with say dvd-decrypter?... then use the toxic patcher

yes you have to create the iso with dvddecrypter,after ityou have to use the toxic patcher and finally you can burn your iso

make sure you change the book type to DVD-ROM in dvd decrypter before you burn i made a backup on Datasafe DVD+R DL media with a NEC2510A dvd-writer (firmware 2.17) using the patch. it works perfectly on my housemates v7 PS2 with DMS3, but does NOT work on my v7 PS2 with Magic 3.1 if anyone tries it, please post whether it works or not, and what version PS2, modchip, dvd writer, media etc. you are using so we can see what makes a difference

Oh my god, I finally got the volvo 240 GLT and it's frcking awesome I'm actually hooked in this game now, and I normally dont like simulators. I truly hate the license crap though, it's incredible annoying.
