Yes, now you don't even have to mark enemies, the new version kills every enemy in the area automatically as soon as you walk in!

As much as I'm looking forward to another Thief game, this is what I expect....

Interviewer: Whats it all about?
Eidos rep: Think Assassins Creed meets Prince of Persia, with a touch of Uber Ninja!

Interviewer: Okay, what will stealth gameplay be like?
Eidos rep: LOL!

Sad

Thief 4, Deus Ex 3 Targeting Wider Audience

Eidos Montreal has kept Thief 4 and Deus Ex 3 under tight wraps thus far. However, in a recent interview the studio's boss Stephane D'Astous outlined their general strategy with developing the two highly-anticipated sequels.

"I think the challenges lie in that they were very well recognised and appreciated before in the past, but they need to be taken to another level," D'Astous told VGHeaven. "We need to make these games very attractive and accessible to a wider audience without diluting the content."

Both franchises have a very dedicated cult following and some of those fans are no doubt cringing at the phrase "accessible to a wider audience." One big reason Deus Ex: Invisible War (the second game in that series) wasn't as well-received as Deus Ex was that it stripped away the latter's RPG elements. Still, "accessible" doesn't always mean "watered down."

HA! We need to take the games to another level... WTF? I don't doubt that the games will be taken to another level but I'm pretty sure that it will the lowest level. The console crowd is simply so easy to please that devs can get away with surperficial gameplay again and again.
I'm wondering when the console tards will get tired of playing the same shit for the 100th time...

Thief 3 was pretty good in my book , enjoyed it quite a bit , i would have mindid something like that again , sure it wasnt Thief 1 or 2 , but still pretty enjoyable and more action oriented , but still stealthy and just great.

I'd rather not see a Max Payne 3 or Thief 4 happening than to see a whole amazing series go down the fucking drain to some dickheads who were interested in money ONLY.
god i miss the late 90s , just an awesome time for gaming.

The best part was planning the route at the beginning with way points, then executing it & watching the cpu doing everything for you. Now its crap!

The most immediate thing about the snapshot (caught by JeuxVideo) is that the game is presented in third-person, even when a bow is being aimed.

There's also no glaringly obvious 'how dark is it - can I be seen?' icon on the HUD, although the transparent white circle in the middle of the screen could be it.

Eidos is expected to unveil Thief 4 at the Game Developers Conference next week.

It seems so, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions about the game and how it plays from one off-screen picture. I mean I can barely see anything Very Happy

Well, there was 3rd Person view in Thief3, so hopefully it's just an option.
