It has the best character graphics I've ever seen for real-time rendering, and the animations are beyond superb. There is this sort of delay with how your character reacts to your controller input that just makes them seem so much more real. Massively superior in the technology department to the previous games.
Also the controls have been made far more intuitive, where the analogue sensitivity of the right stick is taken full advantage of.
In the previous games if I didn't get a knock-out within the first 3 rounds I got bored, for some reason winning by decision feels just as satisfying in this.

Graphically it's excellent, gameplay wise it's horribly arcade, hopefully the sliders in the full game will make a difference.

Been playing a few fights.
Won more then I've lost which makes a change in games
I think the one button blocking system is a bit odd as it blocks both body and face sots with the press of one button r1.
I'll buy it if i can find it cheap enough, might wait a few months for the price to come down

Then obviously bad burn, did you verify it?
I just burned it at max speed and verified it with imgburn but haven't installed yet, my 360 isn't banned so I might just play from DVD offline with a temp profile etc.

I burned at max speed as well using imgBurn. Installed to HDD and other than a few sound issues, game runs fine.
I assume you're using the .dvd to burn rather than the iso?

Dunno against UFC, two different types of fighting so not really comparable.
As for a quick mini review. I'm up to the championship fight in story mode and done a bit of legacy mode.
Story mode is ok, for a sports game its quite well written but ultimately it's still shallow. Most fights are set pieces where you have to fulfill criteria to win.
Legacy mode is much improved. Now instead of basic stats (i.e. power, stamina, etc) you get to influence which punches are effective by earning XP. You get XP through training and fighting. Bonus XP is given for doing certain things in fights (i.e. knocking opponent down within 3 rounds, cutting opponent, etc).
My main issue is that, much like the demo, the controls feel laggy. Trying to weave is hit and miss and because of this sometimes it feels like the game is completely unbalanced.

Yeah I just double click the .dvd and let imgburn do the rest, using a new dvd writer as my Liteon had some reliability issues, so far I'm 3 for 3 with my new Optiarc AD-7260S-0B this and Divinity2 were burnt at max speed, with my liteon I'd use 1x and it'd still fail on some burns, using verb of course.

Yeah, it does suck. far too much dicking about and not enough fighting.
I'm gonna see if the PS3 controllers are any more responsive than the x360. Perhaps a little hopeful but who knows.

Yeah.. Spoiler: | Don't try and box at any point. Once you've hit the 75 then just keep circling. You've 3 rounds to get 75 body punches so literally dive in, then dive out and circle. Same applies to the rounds 6 and 7, don't box, just avoid. |

Yep, works fine with latest firmware. I've noticed a few sound issues in cut scenes but nothing too bad.[/spoiler]
