Does anyone know with older firmware (Got burned with upgrading to the kinect dashboard) if upgrading to the newest dashboard is gonna screw us and make it so other games don't play? IE: Fable 3 not working after upgrading to the stupid Kinect dashboard
I am one of those users that (typically) upgrades my dashboard, still uses the wave 3 patch and games usually work.
I am not going to upgrade my dash again until I know what happens!!
Also, does anyone know, or have a link to the latest dash? what version number is it?

360 uses blasting technique so when a newer dashboard is updated no way you can go back.

Yeah I know. Precisely the reason to not upgrade until someone confirms that upgrading to the latest dashboard is going to work for Bulletstorm and not screw up any existing titles.

The new Dashboard is 2.0.12611.0
I was a user who usually patched my games to Wave 3, but this didn't work. I patched it, and went to play, asked for the update and it updated dashboard. It then asks for a further update which won't complete.

Afaik this is nothing new, it was always like that. The first update is the important one. It's the real update that's flashed to your console's internal memory. The second update is just avatars and other crap that installs on your HDD but it doesn't work because you patched the iso. You must either install it via USB/CDR/DVDR (if the update is already available for download somewhere) or you need to remove your HDD then you shouldn't be asked to update further.

I had the same "issue". I still patch my games too. Installed the update from usb, inserted the game, and everything works fine (i can play Bulletstorm).
If you get an E71 error after the update, remove the usb stick and restart the console, it'll boot.

I don't know why don't you guys update your firmware to LT+...
It's quite simple these days you don't even need a probe to get they key if you have and old firmware.
If you think opening the console is too much trouble I suggest purchasing a "X360 Console Opening Tool" from dealextreme (2 dollars), it's quite dummy-proof.

Can you please post a link to the update you mentioned above? i just checked the xbox website and it actually says that the latest update is 12625. I don't want to do an update that will screw with my firmware like the AP 2.5 protection update did.
If you could post a link to where you got yours, that would be great

Hello. I have a liteon 1.51 with three update hack. I patch my games to wave 3.
So, to play Bulletstorm I need to update to 12625? If I do that, every game, except
the ones with AP 2.5, will work like they worked before update?

You have to update your dash to play bulletstorm but it will work on any console since its not ap 2.5. If you have updated your dash using the glitch that makes it possible to play other ap 2.5 then this update will correct it and you wont be able to play ap 2.5 games unless you update to LT+. Im not entirely sure about this but this is what i have read in other threads.
And yes other non-ap 2.5 games will still work.

So that trick doesn't work anymore to play AP2.5 games without LT+? And if i do that update i can't play ap2.5 games anymore?

I guess if I want to keep playing games on my 360 I'm going to need to update my firmware. I'm not paying someone to do it tho, so if I can't do it myself, oh well. Can't seem to find any good guides on it though.
So if my drive is currently on (i think) 1.51, and I don't have a probe or whatever, can I upgrade to LT+? Or am I fucked with drive keys n shit?
Want to play Bulletstorm so bad and I'm tired of wave patching.
i can has computar?!

Hi Guys,
been a while since i upgraded firmware so probably still on just LT.. is there a way to check what fw i have on currently?
i can play blackops etc fine - not tried bulletstorm or AC:B - can i just burn bulletstorm and play or do i have to install LT+ / update dash / something extra?

Can anyone confirm if Halo Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 no longer work after doing the latest patch for bulletstorm? Scares the shit outta me after reading that on the wikipedia site.

I only play offline anyway, I just wanted to know if the bulletstorm patch affects those specific games as if it does, I am probably not going to do the patch. Does anyone else know if the other games are affected by the Bulletstorm patch?

Bulletstorm update ( 2.0.12611.0 ) only affects NFS HP , Fable 3 and ACB.
Newest dash update ( 2.0.12625.0 ) affects above mentioned + Halo Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Other games works fine for now,cause I tested this also.U can see details on wiki link that deelix posted..

Yep.. screw that, I don't think that bulletstorm is worth trading the other games for.. I'm gonna wait and maybe just do the upgrade in the future. I paid to have my console firmware updated in a city I no longer live in -- I may take that other guys advice and buy the special tool though.. shrug..
