What's with the fucked up shadows? Installed the title update, yet, don't have a clue what it fixed. Disabling the Post processing effects somewhat helped in maintaining a proper colour scheme.

Same issues. Fucked up texture color depth or something and weird shadow projection issues. GT8800.

Maybe we need to first copy the crack, and then update the game ?

xlive.dll is the real cracking thing. The game itselft doesn't have protection so it will be save to update

Download from newsservers, but it seems the Fairlight release is password protected. Anyone got an idea what the password is? Trying to avoid redownloading 7gigs.

Are you guys getting some poor textures too ?

All set to high, still some textures are washed of details .

I don't have gfx corruption, but I get shitty performance when running the game higher than 1280X800 with everything on Max except for V-sync and AA which is turned off and forced off in D3DOverider.

I don't have a beast of a PC, but this is the first Unreal engine game that I can't max out, does that make sense? Or is the game bugged?

Btw. Anybody know, if the FOV can be changed?

PS. Played a couple of levels, and I must say that this is just another corridor shooter with extremely stupid characters. Somebody said something about a twelve year old writing the story, I think that somebody is spot on. Smile

Pps. Oh, and what about that annoying Mouse smoothing...Can it be turned off?

Some of us do, yet no solution exists.

Perhaps check the control panels for your videocards, don't know what type of videocard you have or whether you force any D3D settings?

I changed every possible combination there possible, also tried like 5 or 6 different video drivers. It's 9600GT, which seems to be popular among the reports about this problem.

/edit
Though interesting point, modifying bUseMaxQualityMode=False (to True) line in an unpatched game's BaseEngine.ini seems to fix the texture quality, but not the shadows.

Sounds like texture filtering gone wrong; don't know if it's still there, but tried clamping the LOD bias?

Not tried the game yet, I'll give it a go tonight Smile

and you know that when you patch the game they encrypt those INI files so you can't manipulate them

I know, hence I said unpatched game. I had to reinstall the game to try it, pointless though because shadows look even worse.

GO here;
NVIDIA Inspector Tool – Version 1.95
http://download.orbmu2k.de/download.php?id=51

Once installed;

- Open nvidiaInspector
- Go to configure, button next to Driver version
- Go to profiles and select Bulletstorm
- The .exe they have by default is wrong (shippingpc-geargame.exe). You must add the correct .exe by then clicking on 'Add application to current profile' and selecting ShippingPC-StormGame.exe
- Once added scroll down to SLI section
- In section 'Number of GPUs to use on SLI rendering mode' select 'SLI_GPU_COUNT_TWO' for those that have SLI
- Click 'Apply changes'

ENJOY.

At least nVidia allows you to modify manually. ATI has their stupid profiles locked down like they include the cure to cancer in them. Laughing

Is it related to CPU issue ? Because I read somewhere you need at least a core 2 duo 2 GHz to play on minimum.

Yeah I removed mouse smoothing (Input INI), set maxquality=true (Whatever it actually does.) tweaked shadows and some of the other engine settings (Engine INI) a bit and increased the pool size, still tweaking some smaller things but it's a very easy to use utility although I guess I was wrong with how the INI files were handled if they got decrypted that fast, found it via discussions on AntiSF forums and decided to try it since comments for it looked pretty positive. Smile

Thx for sharing that editor link.

Will this editor allow me to adjust the FOV? Smile

There's a bmousesmoothing=true or some such named value in the input INI file (User/Documents folder, don't edit the base files in the game directory.) and then I just tweaked the Engine ini for the other commands, couldn't get game ini file to render properly but these two will work just fine for what I wanted to alter. Smile

EDIT: Unsure about the FoV but in the worst case I assume a custom key binding setup in the input ini in the form of a console command to switch the FoV out will function if the command is active and not disabled or such. Smile
(Console itself is disabled but that doesn't mean the commands for it are.)
