Well I didn't mean that by name, obviously. More like a "spiritual" successor. But more than Dragon Age was for Baldur's Gate though. 
Look at Risen vs. the so-called "Gothic" IV.

I'm actually more enthusiastic about this than about Dragon Age 2.
3 new "proper" shots here. Also official website is up. Nothing much to see there, thought, atm.

"Yarh" and "walk the plank" type of setting, interesting choice, archery replaced by guns, can't say it will be missed I always played as mage and warrior.

Could've kept archery along with the newly introduced rifles.
Although in a sea pirate context, archery doesn't really fit in.
But this is "third-hand" information after all, so it might not be true.

It's a summary of a translation from a german PC magazine which got info from PB.
It can still change or be just inaccurate.
Still, it's not a big deal for me. I'm more interested in those non-linear side quests ( plus less fetch quests ) and more content in later chapters

It's great if they change it for a pirate setting. I'm tired of playing the same setting rpg's over and over.
