Brilliant trailer
If the game captures half of the deph in the "movie" it would be a must.

Refresh my memory! I used to love Albion, but I barely remember most of it.
(unless you're talking about Albion being the first "Avatar" -- Marine goes to planet, sees the local natives being subjugated and eventually joins them, rising up against his former friends In which case; no, I don't mean that. I'm referring to a particular scene where Stephen Lang's character is watching the massacre and just enjoying a cup of coffee ) |
| Quote: | In Albion it is the year 2227, and you take the role of Tom Driscoll, space pilot for the powerful DDT Corporation. DDT has sent a factory ship called the Toronto to harvest minerals and resources from Albion, a newly discovered desert world barren of life but rich in resources.
Tom is sent to take some atmospheric readings on the planet, but crash lands after an apparently accidental systems failure of his shuttle. Upon reviving from the accident he is shocked to discover Albion is in fact a rich, life-filled world inhabited by many alien life-forms. It then becomes his task to explore the strange new world and locate the Toronto. His quest becomes even more urgent when it becomes apparent that the AI guiding Toronto is determined to destroy this life-filled world in the name of big business. |

Quality is surprisingly close to the CGI trailer...!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

What's the problem with people saying that a great CGI trailer is great?
I like it too.

I really like Dead Rising 2, but this one seems to be more mature. We'll need to wait for some gameplay trailers or new info, a lot of things may be different from the 2007 version, but I hope it's a more mature survival/zombie game.

so, like, suddenly im starting to feel a little interested...
weapon degradation though also i wonder how quests n shit are set up.. its hard to imagine people are setting up shops n shit as is the rpg npc tradition, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse...

| Quote: | | Imagine Borderlands set on the Just Cause 2 island with the Left 4 Dead style of zombies, featuring a quest system similar to Fallout 3 and the weapons system of Dead Rising 2. Blend all of that together, and you get Dead Island; or, as Deep Silver likes to refer to it, a "first-person zombie slasher action RPG." |
Big words here, memorable games, all in one, hmm hope Dead Island can deliver us that.

eh. borderlands and dead rising i found to be pretty damn meh... and l4d STYLE zombies doesnt really mean much, beyond that they have 'special' qualities.
fallout 3 is what stands out the most for me there. took me 4 tries to actually get into it, and when i did, easily one of the most memorable games ive played in a long time. fallout 3 with zombie slaughtering could be wicked fun.
and damn scary during the night cycles
