Since start of this year, i was thinking that i earned a better connection.
So yea, i took the most expensive contract there is avaible down here (http://www.ziggo.nl/#producten/alles-in-1/extra/).
Now it was working flawless for over a month, untill last week monday.
I was just sitting on TS with a friend, playing some games, when my connection started to get fucked.
So i checked my switch, did a 30sec modem power disconnected, plugged my cable directly in my pc, nothing seemed to help.
So i gave their helpdesk a call and they indeed saw some issues in my modem, aswell as in my sister her modem (who lives 4 stories above me), even the phone connection was breaking up (goes over the same cable), but still that wasnt reason enough for them to send someone over. I had to do some speedtests during the day and report back to them. So i did, and they came with the usual bullshit if everything was correctly connected in my house.. Now i have got my IT degrees and currently studying for MCDST and MCITP, so i got prolly more knowledge then they got... but ok, i pretended to listen to their fucking bullshit and reconnected my COAX cable -.-'
Now so far it has been fucking horrible every day, with me being unable to make phonecalls towards their helpdesk even, and when i called (when my connection was more or less stable again) they claimed they didnt see anything wrong in my modem.
Now after calling for 5 days in a row, i finally got someone that understood directly what the problem was and planned a technician over for Monday.
Now the thing that bothers me, is that the problem comes and goes like the wind. Prolly even so that monday when the technician is here, the connection will be just fine again and he will claim that there was no problem, leaving me with a bill for them sending a technician for nothing.
Now i can smack the dude then in the back of his head with a baseballbat, but i dont think thats gonna solve my problem.
Switching ISP isnt an option either, as i got 2 choises here, DSL or Cable (COAX). the problem with DSL is that im 1.3km away from the connectionpoint in the neighbourhood.
So im having about 50% loss in speed. The fastest atm on DSL is Tele2 with 50mbit. I had that one before i moved over to Ziggo and got only 22mbit out of it, but having to pay a full price.
So yea im in abit of a dilemma here...

Hard to say, the internets companies will do what they want with very little input on what you say. They can throttle you down and just say " oh well..server issues..try again later" and not a whole lot you can say
First off all.... just wait for the guy to show up.
Its the same with all those companies so switching doesnt bring you anywhere... Mostly i make a list of all the things i did of what they gonna ask anyway and sum that up as a allready did list on the moment i get them on the phone.
I think there is something seriously wrong in one of those.... dont know the word... outside cases where all connections come together. I had this 4 weeks ago with my Telfort Abbo. Nobody know what happened but the connection was fucked for days and since then im having more disconnects that ever.
And omg.... i didnt realise tele2 had allready 50Mbit its about the same price as my 20mbit telfort abbo.... hmmmmm... tempting.
