The game is a blast. They managed to fix the pathetic viewdistance from mc2 on the ps2, the viewdistance is insanely good in this one, great stuff.
And as before, there are 3 big cities, luckely Smile. That's one thing I hated in nfsu2, 1 single city in the whole game, it became extremely booring because of that.
But luckely rockstar didn't follow in their steps and made it just like mc2 Smile

You can change alot of stuff in this game, even your license plate. I put my game nick there Smile

Naa, didn't try it on hdd. I only have a 16GB hdd and it's already full with games that read the disc constantly Smile
But I have heard that it "works" with hdloader and mode3 but it freezes at car selection.

By the way, there are also 3 different time periods to race. Dawn, night and a third that I cant remember Razz It changes on the fly.
And there are also cops that chase you in the middle of a race, can become quite frustrating at times Very Happy

works off of the harddrive.. mode 3..

theres some problems off the hdd tho.. when your in the garage the songs constantly change so you get no music and the song display at the bottom scrolls out of control.. also durring racing it scrolls.. and its right in the middle of the screen

GAH!!! You cant run people over in this game! NOOO!

Damn it! I wanted it to be like GTA where you can run folks over and see blood everywhere, other then that this game is sweet, it has Car damage. Nice!

Oh! And it works with Swap Magic 2.0 Smile

I have downloaded Protocols release and tried it with 2 different dvd-r and 2 different burningprograms. Nothing works!! Does anyone else have any problems with this release or am I unlucky? :S My PS2 refuse to read the disk!!

sup i tried burning this game on dvd-r and it worked but doesnt get past loading screen in career mode so i burnt it on a dvd+r now it works perfectly. so try using them

As long as you use GOOD disc's it doesn't mather if they are + or -.
I use -R and it works perfect. And you cant just say "use +r" you have to give an example of a disc that works since there are tons of crap +r and -r disc's Smile

ive been using dvd+r and it doesnt work for me, the loading takes forever and ends up going back eventually to the same screen. ive burned it on 4x, 1x, and using nero and alcohol 120%, although i am using generic dvds it should be fine

23% in.. loving the game, didn't think i would enjoy an arcade racer as much as this since burnout 3 came out. i can honestly say i like this more.

Oh god, the STUPID FRICKING RAIN is killing the enjoyment for me Sad
I'm no pro at these kind of games, I'm average and I dont stand a fricking chanse with my fastest possible vehicle when the DAMN rain falls down Sad(
I dont see SHIT.
And now the rain seem to be PERMANENT! (around 20-30% done) Sad
I won 1 race in rain and after that it cleared, so I did a new race and won that easily since there were no rain but guess what? The fricking rain is now BACK Sad 1 race of happiness Sad(

Will the rain go away if I just let the game sit there for awhile without me doing anything? If not I will without a doubt just put this game on the shelf and never touch it again, seriously, or just cheat through it just to see the cars. This was the most annoying thing I have ever seen in a game.

overall a nice game, much better than mc2 which i didnt like alot,
but when it comes to racing games its either
GT4 or Burnout 3 for me, games like midnight club or nfsu just dont reach that level of fun, handling and longevity.

The only thing fun with this game is the styling part :/
The driving sucks, and i know it´s arcade, but i don´t thnk it´s as fun as MC1 or 2...but that´s my opinion!

I gave in to the cheat devil, I simple couldn't beat any race when it rain. I redid some of them like 100times, I'm not kidding. Sad
I must say, this game is ALOT harder than mc2. I didn't have much trouble with mc2 untill the last races. Not even the bad viewdistance in mc2 made it harder.

It had been nice with a cheat that made the weather clear all the time, because then it would be possible for me to atleast stand a chanse, but as far as I know, there is no cheat like that :/

yep rain is hard, 29% in atlanta just done the suv races. Pretty good game altho crazy things can happen - took off a ramp and bodged it, flew at some buildings, went straight thru the middle of em and carried on to win nice... Very Happy

the bikes are a bit bizarre cos of weight transfer

did u know u can boost in mid-air? lol

i like this game a lot and if the races are too tough suck it up and race harder there are always short cuts etc... to help u win the race , i for 1 love this game Smile

As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Suck it up and race harder? Yeah right, I think I shuld know every shortcut there is after 100 retries on a single race dude Razz
This game is just incredible hard when it raines for the average racer. People that are used to racing games will problary find it much easier than us. There shuld have been a difficult selector like in the nfsu games, that had been sweet and it would make the game a game for everyone, and not just for the regular racer.

It's easier to race with bikes when it raines though, much easier. The cars are useless for me.

i don't get you guys. about 40% finished, rain or no rain i don't see this being terribly hard yet. some races are a bit tough but that usually means you need to upgrade your car, ie a souped up class c suv is faster than a standard class b. you can tell when they outrun you on a straight that you are prolly in the wrong car for the job.

and i'm not a hardcore racer gamer, i usually play turnbased rpg Very Happy

don't i need some magical illegal thing?
