No, you'd rather we all just accepted any shit that got shovelled our way, right? You can't seriously be expecting people to be HAPPY with the way DA2 is turning out.... can you?? Oh wait.. of course... it doesn't matter how "streamlined" the game is, doesn't matter that you "press and button and something awesome happens!" just as long as the story is ok! Besides, the first Dragon Age wasn't a role-playing game either, so it doesn't matter that exploration and strategy has been "streamlined" for God of War Age 2.

Blegh.

Even though I do agree with JanKowalski82, to a certain point, I still agree with said game-bashers.
But think about it, we have NOT seen anything about DA2 on the hardest difficulty, mobs will hopefully be harder to kill, even though something awesome happens when you press a button, which is the case for consoles where you have to smash the same buttons over and over, I have started to hear things about the PC version still maintaining a more fluent version of the DAO combat system. Only with limitations to the cam, you can still pause, you can still plan your moves. (OMFG BOUGHT OF BY THE GAME COMPANIES!!!!23214 /tinfoilhat)
The conversation system is another story, Mass Effect-esque dialog isn't in my opinion the best option for an RPG-brand such as Dragon Age.
Just download it once it comes out, or the demo, and see how it all plays out.
I might be foolish, but I still see very little light at the end of the tunnel.

Heh i understand all the concern and am not saying it will not suck and be a dissaster, but dont you think you are exaggerating a bit? This reminds me of one guy that started whining when he heard square enix would do animation for DX3. He was like "OMG we gonna have MANGA characters now whhhhiiiiiiinneeeee ad infinitum"

PC VERSION of DA2 is not all that different from origins, except the inventory simplification, heavier story-character focus and a bit quicker combat or moves, based on what we've seen so far. We shall see who is right in a months time, but surely all this premature complaining, as always, is a bit tiring. Is it not?

I prefer BG2 to be honest. And I meant "replay Origins" as in "replay a more complex game from a while back" I still consider BG2 to be the best game to portray magic, and therefore it's one of my favorite games of all time. Smile

Finally, some light!

Umm... am I the only (Baldur's Gate "player") that thinks that compared to old BioWare titles, Dragon Age is a ... linear, simplified, commercial, hollywood-like and "trendy" experience?

I can understand the great value in it's presentation, but other that that... I simply could not connect to the story, puppet linear characters and not memorable locations and storyline (lore included). And I simply cannot name this game as almost all the press names it as "epic". Good? Yes! Very good?! Perhaps, some parts of it. But "epic"?!?! NO way.

Call me an old grumpy fart that resided far too much in Amn, but, tbh, I found more originality and memorable and original moments in DeathSpank.

IMHO, ofc Smile

minesweeper is the greatest rpg game. i level up with a few drinks, put on my captains hat, then assume the role of a naval commander as i dodge mines on the high seas in an epic quest to find the illusive yellow-faced man!

if that shit aint role playing, then i dunno what is.

Whether they know or not is largely irrelevant. While they continue to sell millions of copies of their latest streamlined masterpiece and the likes of Kotick sleep on mattresses stuffed with $100 bills, they simply won't give a shit.
