Holy crap - I suck at this game. How the hell do you swap characters? And are there no Kicks/Punches anymore like the old days - it seems like there are only three buttons for L/M/H attack and some Special Attack button - totally fluxxed as far as the control scheme goes.
Yup It's pathetic... the same control system as Tatsunoko vs Capcom on the Wii; horrible. I guess 6 buttons is just too much for the average twat these days It's like playing Super Gem Fighters, only not as fun. Or cool. Or unique.
Forgive my derpness by what exactly makes these fighting games different from each other? Apart from different skins, surely the characters pretty much use the same moves, on the same stages, with the same "story" progression?
I'm just surprised that YEARS after Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat, these games are still selling and people look forward to them so much but it's essentially the same game?

Different moves, different offensive tactics, different defensive tactics. Some fighting games are not as balanced as others. Marvel vs Capcom 2 had like over 50 characters but only half a dozen were good. Some fighting games are more frantic, others are slower & have more mind games to them. The differences can be subtle to some gamers, but the same could be made for most Mario games, yet they keep coming out
MvC3 game has 3 attack buttons (light, medium, heavy) a 'special' button (often use for launching opponents in the air), and two 'tag' buttons (1 for each partner) so there's your six buttons.
Got the 360 and it works perfectly for me. No freeze in the Demon Village level on both, Arcade and Versus. The PS3 version is almost half the size. Dam it! Knew I should have waited for it.
I friggin' LOVE having a fast line Woke up, set the PS3 version of MvC3 downloading, went and made a coffee, had a smoke, brushed my teeth... came back and it was already done downloading
Oh fuck this.... I don't WANT to enjoy this game! I want my righteous anger over the retarded control scheme (and it IS retarded, nothing anyone will say will convince me otherwise) to stay bubbling on the surface... but no... not happening. As it turns out; I'm having a stupendous blast playing this game and I'm so eagerly looking forward to kicking my bro's ass at it when I fly back to the UK. The visuals are absolutely stunning but the game is literally crying out for some AA, since the jaggies are all over the place.
I still positively detest the controls, I think it's an utterly brain-dead decision to ruin the series like this, you don't feel like you have any real control over your character since any of the three attack buttons can switch to a kick or a punch without any kind of rhythm or reason
Ok so I seriously dont know which version of this game to download..yesterday I downloaded the PEMA version, found out that one was a duke of FRACO's one.now they have Marvel.Vs.Capcom.3.XBOX360-COMPLEX is that the correct one to get since that one is NOT a dupe..just dont want to download something and end up wasting another disc..read about the issues with freezing with the demon village/arcade so dont want that problem here, thanks
