Is it me or is the engine badly optimized?

Im getting around 20-30 fps with some stuttering with everything maxed out @ 1920x1080...

Fps seems little low for what we see on screen, but the game sure is cpu demanding because its uses 100 % of my uberfast e6420(3.4 ghz). try not using environment details on very high.

ps. Game isnt THAT bad, but it could be MUCH better. Wink

There is a 350 MB or so patch available since a while now Mark as I linked to a few posts earlier, we don't see it likely due to being on the Q&A branch from Jan 14th instead of the RTM/Gold/Retail version from the 21st or what the dates were again.

Since it can't be downloaded separately mArkAntonioo you and others should be able to get access to those files once I get access to the legal version itself and can provide the modified files, of course the version number is stored in the registry (HKey_Local_Machine\Software\WoW6432Node\Atari\TDU2) with the WoW6432 stuff being 64-bit specific, anyway and this might be necessary to alter as well.

I should be able to provide the updated files that were changed between Q&A69 or what this launcher said again and 1.0.0 but minus the .big and .map files but that's hopefully not so important (Assets are likely unchanged for such a short notice and will hold until a up to date scene-release comes along and hopefully the patch utilizes a specific patch archive.) and then the un-altered patch itself.
(Launcher downloader caches everything in the game folder, hopefully it's not just lose files for the patch data.)

Of course then someone else will then have to open TDU2.exe in a hex-editor or whatever, compare it to Skidrows and patch/change the same byte (Was just a 1 byte change apparently based on the previous discussions about it.) so as to skip that validation and be able to start the game after updating, failing that a working proper crack or full (re)release is needed to benefit from all changes, doubt the old exe will work very well.

Well, I was wondering about the "QA" wording on the lower left corner of the updater launch screen...

yes, but those review versions display a "TDU2 QA Vxx" text on screen, maybe thats what shitrow patched with that one changed byte (dont know about the copy protection). but dont expect too much from a proper release, there were almost none changes from tdu1 beta to final
