Yeah, if its for real, I am very sorry. I thought my father was dying a few years back and I couldn't deal with it. I can't lose my dad, he's 60 this year. Thats not young but not old...atleast wait till 80 before the bucket is kicked ya know.
Thats why i moved him in with me. I can monitor his meds and his eating and make sure he doesn't eat something thats gunna send him in the hospital

Edit: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=hot+coffee+cancer

ABC news is bullshit.

If you check the dates on any of those studies you'll see they are more then a decade old, like I stated: Coffee = Cancer is an antiquated belief in modern biology.

I think we have been talking about different things. I tried to make a case that consuming hot food (heat) in general can increase cancer risk and not necessarily the consumed food. Or is that wrong as well? Anyway your comment above kinda shows how useless it is to read some popular science in a news paper.

Try for a second opinion in a different hospital. You never know m8. Know stories (real ones) where cancer patients were giving up upon. They ask a second opinion in a different hospital and they were giving quite opposite diagnosis.
eg. not treatable vs treatable, can't be operated vs it can be operated etc...

that is very true. I take it your English 'mate'?

In Canada, u always get a 2nd opinion and 3rd if its as serious as this is

One specialist 7 years ago said my dad had stomach cancer and wouldn't live a year.
We told our family doc, she sent him for tests and a second opinion...not cancer, crones disease
retarded doc

I once had a doc almost blind me because he didnt pay attention to the fact i was highly allergic to the component in the eye drops...fucking cunt

sorry for the "mate" part, played too much world of warcraft hehe Very Happy

Actually I am from absurdistan, better know as Belgium to the rest of the world.

And indeed, it baffles me that doctors can have such different opinions on the same patient. Especially in the case of diagnosis on cancer. Mainly because even the "elite" of oncologists recognize that they don't know half what cancer is all about. A lot is not known or still under investigation. Best thing to do is go to a clinic attached to an university where they organise "clinical trials" for patients. Even then, you can't be sure, if there is something like being sure about anything in this world.

Very true man. But if you cant trust docs for medicine, who can we trust? I'm not qualified to treat mental health issues or physical health issues (aside from First Aid and CPR)....what needs to happen is the Pharma companies need to go and medicine needs to go back to what it was about in the beginning...healing people and not trying to make money on the sick and injured

EDIT

Btw, welcome Smile

ah heck, at least medicine is making progress and doctors getting better and better at treating and even curing afflictions (eg treating hiv/aids). And it helps a lot too that in most "industrialized" countries the goverment invests in public health care. You hear a lot of bad things about Belgium, but that is something they are dong very well. Never understood why US citizens have so much problems with a public health care system.

edit: thx Wink

They are now sending my father home. And they say it's only a matter of time now. Mother will call then it's time to move back home. It's only for a short time so we can be there then it happens. We only live 20 minutes away (walking) so will visit as often as I can before that.

About second opinions, we had 4 different doctors saying the same thing.

Thanks for all the support.

I'm very sorry for the loss and suffering of you and your family. You won't necessarily see it, I don't know, but today is the start of your recovery. Take care of each other while you move on.
