Well, finally, RIP Battlefield. No money from me then, no matter how good the game will be. In the long run it will fail miserably. Like most of the games these days that don't come with Mod support.
I skipped MW2 and BlackOps for the obvious reasons. I bought BC2 because of my friends and got disappointed after a couple of months playing it. This won't happen again.

Gladly the classics are still playable and are not quite dead, yet.

Maybe they rethink this when they reach a near complete state of developement. At least I hope so. But that's very unlikely.

If they are not part of the plan now, they will never be, I can guarantee you that. The only chance to get mod tools, is if they are part of their plan and we have misinterpreted that twitter quote, because I am honestly very surprised that he revealed that, because in general they are not allowed to reveal anything about the game yet.

"external tools steal focus."

One would think their internal tools for building levels for instance would be developed to a point by now that's good enough for Dice. What's good enough for Dice is good enough for us. Of course you don't want to release your tools though you've got money to make on DLC.

Really? Do you think people (even derps here) would have bought the Vietnam "expansion" (4 maps!! Laughing) had there been mod tools? It is quite clear that there would have been a Vietnam mod quite fast, which would encompass a lot more content than the "expansion" by EA.

Maybe on the consoles, but no way on PC. And DICE knows this.

Haha, well I still there is a line that, given the choice, would not be crossed. But EA/DICE/Activision/Ubisoft know this very well. So why would they give out the tools, when these retards are willing to spend 15$ on a four maps "expansion". Rolling Eyes

And then you guys ask why I see the gaming industry in bad light. Laughing

Regarding DLC/expansion like Vietnam you may think a little longer next time you call someone retard for purchasing them. You know some people, including me, are willing to spend $15 for 5 maps if they see the maps will entertain them for long enough. In total I played Vietnam expansion for about 24 hours, which is great bang for the buck.

Games is business like any other. Would you expect car manufacturer lend/give out their factory so you can make car "for free" for yourself and your friends? I mean sure it's nice bonus if they include mod support, but boycotting by not buying otherwise good game for freaking $15? Come on...

Grow up. Anyone willing to throw cash for something which would have been free several years ago (mod support or not) is an idiot with too much cash on his hands, and because of people like you that we are in the state that we are now. Now go buy a that Mass Effect 2 costumes pack. It's just 2$ and offers amazing value.

Well...it's your opinion. I consider 10+ hours of entertainment for $10-15 money well spent. Better than going to the cinema for 2hr long movie that will cost you like $6-7 in my country.

On the other hands I agree that charging $2 for alt-appearance I consider silly. I'd consider that silly even if they released it for free. It has no value as it does not offer any new game experience. I agree people that buy everything that's being thrown at them (like mentioned ME2 Costume pack) idiots, but you can't compare bunch of textures for $2 to map pack (or expansion) like Vietnam.

I don't minde DLCs or expansions, but mod tools is a must have for the community's sake.

BF2 didn't become so popular without mods.

Mods = must have,

i am so disappoint Sad

im on the hunt for a new multiplayer game, because im starting to get sick and tired of all this trading shit on tf2, and i dont have the lady parts necessary to enjoy a f2p mmo, so i really want a good multiplayer 'shootah' game...

actually became slightly interested in this today, but with no mod support, ugh.. may as well write it off...

what about bulletstorm.. should i cross that one off my list too?

oh wait... apparently no pc demo, and that cliff derp is pissing on pc gamers, insulting - sure, but also leads me to believe that pc gamers are planned to be left out in the cold on the game, so i guess i cant buy that game either.

fucks sake, its like these fuckers dont want my money?

hm sorry, but unlike COD dlc's, so far , battlefield expansions and the few dlc's have all been very fair priced... again unlike cod's 15$ for 3 maps bs ...

sure im sad about the no modding part, certainly, but "not buying a game" for that , i dont know, sounds more like justifying pirating it ^

It does have a SP campaign and co-op though. Razz
(I enjoyed the SP campaigns in MoH and BC2 but they were pretty brief, not much for online multiplayer usually though I played BC2 now and then but didn't advance very far in terms of player unlocks and ranks.)

What???!! BF2 didn't have any SP campaign though, it was more like playing the multiplayer maps with bots for training.

Does BF3 really have a SP campaign? Like MoH and CoD ?

1 and 2 are still amazing.

From the first posts about when the game was announced on page six or so - http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40795&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=150

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/02/03/march-cover-revealed-battlefield-3.aspx

And then some further info from their blog via - http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/

Quote:

...we have also included a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign...

That should explain some of it, unsure if there's much more available about it as it was just announced. Smile

Whether they include private servers or use hosted only will be what makes me decide whether to buy or not.

I'll buy if I can make my own private server and play with a friend but refure to pay a single dime if I also have to purchase my own hosted server.

Good point about co-op. I suppose they could allow non-dedicated private hosting, although that would still expose the files wouldn't it? Something they don't like to do apparently.
