I hope that the HD releases include the original portuguese subtitles, there are a few lines/words that I always find a bit hard to understand.

I was a bit worried when I heard talks of a sequel, but this movie definitely delivered.
Even better (although only slightly IMO) than the original.

faster 6/10
was kinda at 6.5 until the ending happened, and that dropped it down to 6
i was expecting a 'fast' action film, but this clearly wasnt one... it really was a drama/thriller type movie, which in itself I dont mind, but the problem was that it wasnt made well enough to stand on its own in either of those genres.
trim it down to 80 minutes and get rid of all the unnecessary crap which was poorly developed anyway, and it would have made for a good revenge action movie... but as it stands, its decent, but not great.
also movies like this where people dont get their comeuppance always tend to rub me the wrong way...
 Spoiler: | not killing the preacher... come on... he was so happy to kill the others, but all of a sudden heres a god-boy, and whoooaahh no we cant kill him, because god is mighty and god saves all... CAN YA FEEL DA POWAH OF JEEE-ZUSSS!!! PRAYER WILL SAVE YA!! utter bullshit. the guy was vengeance incarnate for the entire movie, but suddenly just says fuck it and lets him live? to say i felt ripped off, is a massive understatement.
and also he didnt kill that woman? the one married to the cop? SHE was the one that sold them out.. wasnt she even going out with his BROTHER at the time? but he didnt seek revenge on her? he had to have put it together that she was the one, because he saw her in the picture, and he had to have known it was her if it wasnt his father.. so yeah, the bitch not getting what she had coming? again, utter disappointment and i felt seriously ripped off that she was allowed to live after her treachery...
oh, and the chick cop allowing the guy to die a hero so that his wife gets his pension? so the person that sold out his brother, not only lives, but WINS?! |
sorry... cant stand movies - especially revenge ones - that pull that shit. know what? im downgrading it...
movie gets a 5/10 just for pulling that shit and leaving me with such an unsatisfying ending.

Woochi - 8/10 - great Asian movie with comedy, action, good CGI and it's set in two time periods. I'm always amazed how weird such movies are, weird freakin ideas. What strange mind writes scripts for such movies? The movie was a bit long though, some parts were unnecessary.
