If ur into metal, I've heard Japan is an awesome place for western and japanese metal.
They even have a mall just for metal shit (shirts, posters etc etc). Its in Tokyo, dont know where in Tokyo tho. Prolly find it on Google.
But it depends on when u go and where...right now they are having horrible weather. A couple Sifu's I know come here because Japanese winters can be way harsh and they train here till mid March or April

I know the weather sucks (0-10C something like this), but I don't mind cold (I'm belgian after all  ).
Oh and I know for the hostess/yakuza bars, I saw the last Kitano  No but really, how do you spot those? Are they shady/underground peep show like bars or could you wander in those without knowing? |

That eruption was in the very southern tip of Japan, it's not like the whole country is in a crisis or something. So rest assured HubU, you'll find those used-panty vending machines in working order still!
