Spoiler: | How do you defeat Nicole @ chapter 15 ? She's sending swarms of enemies at you and you barely get some health and ammo . |
|
Spoiler: | Plug Nicole full of holes (i used fully upgraded plasma cutter), when she disappears fire at the marker thats right behind her.
When she appears again, plug her again. If you've got a fully upgraded HP bar, you can just ignore the minions and keep shotting at the marker whenever you can, and you should be done in about 3 reloads. |

Anyone forcing any 3D settings globally on either NVIDIA or ATI is an idiot anyway, that's just "OMGITDOESNTWORKWTF" waiting to happen. Profiles per-game FTW :E

How many chapters are in this game?
So far I'm at chapter 6 with ~3 hours played, and I'm taking my time to explore everything (whatever the game lets me explore, that is )
I'm liking it so far, except for the eXXXtreme OMGZaction QTE's...

Have to say I like how the whole Nicole thing was done, would rage if it'd be as simple as say, dn3d

I'd like to ask you all, if it has the mouse problems of the first one? If yes, then it's instant trash can.

Fixed zero gravity flying and better mouse control.
And that's basically what DS2 offers. |
Look on the bright side: it could have been much worse than this, at least we had something similar to a "more of the same" based on rather solid game mechanics and a decent atmosphere

Well off course its ATI(AMD) isn't it. The key feature as it seems is "Restore Factory Defaults" in CCC. This finally worked. Manualy changing anything didn't help. |
Forcing AF, AA etc. can and will cause corruption in certain games with certain cards. It's not AMDs fault. |
Well it's something diffrent becouse I checked all "Let application decide" checkboxes and it still had artifacts. "Restore factory defaults" option must change some options which are not shown directly to user but for instance may change during driver updates or something.

Dead Space 1 ships with perfect mouse controls.
Random Idiot: "Omg, the controls suck! They are laggy!"
Dead Space 2 ships with the same perfect mouse controls.

Sorry, you're wrong. In DS 1, even with v-sync turned off, mouse controls were terrible. The cursor floated sluggishly. The game developers confirmed this. They made no such mistake in DS2.
Seriously, play the first game and then the second. If you can't see the difference it's time to go to an optometrist )

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/250760/news/dead-space-2-pc-controls-are-sorted-promises-visceral/
Quote: | Visceral exec producer Steve Papoutsis told CVG that the studio was aware of the problem - but recommended PC gamers use a joypad with the second game.
"Yeah - we've heard that feedback," he said. "That's something we're focused on trying to improve. Not to sound snarky, but with Dead Space, honestly, the way we're playing it is with a gamepad. Even if you're a PC guy - if you have one - stick [your pad] in your PC and play the game with that.
"That's the thing when we're working on it that we have every day and we have readily available. But this time out we have people dedicated on working to improve the controls for PC players. |
Damn, talk about some kickass devs!
Not only do they dedicate their time to fix a clearly imaginary problem, in the end they even recommend us a noobstick to play this game.

well that was thinly enjoyable.
very linear with hundreds of monster closets and triggers, felt like a cheap ghost train most of the time.
I even got to the point where i could countdown till something popped out and "scared" you.
