Drivers?

Well off course its ATI(AMD) isn't it. The key feature as it seems is "Restore Factory Defaults" in CCC. This finally worked. Manualy changing anything didn't help.

Forcing AF, AA etc. can and will cause corruption in certain games with certain cards. It's not AMDs fault.

13 if I'm not mistaking. I tried to explore, but since the story is so slow to progress at some points, I just decided to rush at some points.

I feel like i'm playing patched DS1 Laughing

Fixed zero gravity flying and better mouse control.

And that's basically what DS2 offers.

Look on the bright side: it could have been much worse than this, at least we had something similar to a "more of the same" based on rather solid game mechanics and a decent atmosphere

Well it's something diffrent becouse I checked all "Let application decide" checkboxes and it still had artifacts. "Restore factory defaults" option must change some options which are not shown directly to user but for instance may change during driver updates or something.

Sorry, you're wrong. In DS 1, even with v-sync turned off, mouse controls were terrible. The cursor floated sluggishly. The game developers confirmed this. They made no such mistake in DS2.

Seriously, play the first game and then the second. If you can't see the difference it's time to go to an optometrist )

Just Force V-sync and triple buffering through D3DOverrider (Not through Nvidia Control panel, it doesn't work for DS1) for DS1 and you have fine controls, not perfect, but close enough Imo.

Having said that, yes! the controls for DS2 is even better...

Ps. I'm playing both games with mouse/Keyb of course Wink

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/250760/news/dead-space-2-pc-controls-are-sorted-promises-visceral/

Quote:
Visceral exec producer Steve Papoutsis told CVG that the studio was aware of the problem - but recommended PC gamers use a joypad with the second game.

"Yeah - we've heard that feedback," he said. "That's something we're focused on trying to improve. Not to sound snarky, but with Dead Space, honestly, the way we're playing it is with a gamepad. Even if you're a PC guy - if you have one - stick [your pad] in your PC and play the game with that.

"That's the thing when we're working on it that we have every day and we have readily available. But this time out we have people dedicated on working to improve the controls for PC players.

Damn, talk about some kickass devs! Surprised
Not only do they dedicate their time to fix a clearly imaginary problem, in the end they even recommend us a noobstick to play this game.
