Is there a way to force V-Sync on ATI cards to break the 30fps cap, which is enforced when V-Sync is enabled from within the game?

Disable in-game vsync and use D3D overrider to cap it to 60.

This looks GOOD with MLAA on. And still 60fps smooth all the way. In-game AA disabled obviously (useless crap).

Regarding the gamma at 0.1 I initially used -0.1 and in some areas this was a bit too dark, default 0.5 however I found way to bright so after some testing (As the screens show.) 0.1 seemed ideal.

As for a savegame I completed my second playtrough and uninstalled the game as I've now seen and done everything in it so whoops though it wouldn't have helped much as I used a single save slot (Which would have landed everyone at the beginning / first save station of playtrough 3 at Zealot mode.)

ok well i finished the movie... took until now because my download was corrupt and it cut out about 17 minutes before the end... the fact i didnt really care that much and was fine with waiting a day or 2 to redownload, should give a pretty solid hint as to what i thought of it.

suck movie was suck. it falls miserably behind the first one, which had problems (kleptomania being the main one) but was still a thoroughly enjoyable film

i MUST congratulate the ds2 movie with ONE thing... being creative in how it handled its multi-director concept. shit like the batman one failed miserably, but i liked that this one used the directors and their styles meshed in with the idea of how different characters 'saw' things/their recollections... its a very good and effective usage of the multi-director format. unfortunately the handling of the MOVIE failed it.

with a better story, better characters and writing, and for fucks sake replacing that jarring and utterly uncessary cgi shit with some other style, would have made for a great film

hey, u know what WOULD have been a great idea? live action for the 'real' sequences, leaving animation for the recollections. THAT would have been cool and a wonderful use of different styles. i mean most of the live action shit would have been cheap and easy to film, with a couple of QUALITY cgi shots for the space ship.. would have made for a great contrast, and for fucks sake would have been better than that rubbish cgi. i mean FUCK, who the hell OK'D THAT CRAP?

5/10 because the animation was generally pretty good (i do wish they had chosen some radically different directors/styles if they were going to mix it up like that), but the story/characters/writing was all really meh - even if it'd just have been a single style/straight forward story, it wouldnt have rated much higher.

phew.

I don't know. Some say they're in Chapter 8 already (with crack) and some are saying they've got the problem too (with legit version).

Btw, seems like the scammer LBiCs got the MP running. But since I don't touch any data that came through his computer, I can't tell if it's true.

No the game works just fine, or at least it did for me, had no issues or problems though as covered subtitles help due to how certain character speak and though not really supported AA can be problematic if forced.
(In-game AA is a blur effect for certain edges, called edge-AA for that reason I guess.)

If it's a game problem I don't expect the devs to fix it. They showed they don't care about the ones that play the game, as long as they make money, after they released the first game, which is still without a patch.

Seems that the game only crashes if you are using the FLT crack with the MULTI6 version...
I don't know if it crashes with the FLT isos.

Were there any reports of chap 7 crashes before today?

I've browsed around and read some people claiming to have legit copies and crashes but not only were they made today but after being accused of pirating, most of them didn't reply. Even if they did deny it, how can we trust them?

The only ones we can trust are people who reported these exact crashes prior to the release of this crack.

We'll see. I'll start playing in a few moments. Very Happy

*EDIT*

Meh, so Vsync is fucked up again... Main menu looked like 15fps or something. After I disabled it, boooya, fluid as water. So, is there away to enable it via driver? Nvidia 260.99_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_international_whql here.

I'm just curious...Did anybody notice any difference in the two control schemes? The default is called Center, and the other is called Classic. I can't see any difference, but fortunately, the PC controls are fine this time. Smile

EDIT: It seems that the only difference lies in the Beams on the Plasma cutter. With Center selected. they don't reach as far as with Classic control. Not sure if it affects gameplay, but try and aim the gun and you will see the difference.

But if it's purely cosmetic, then I don't get why they bothered to make two options.

does anybody else have a problem setting up game pad controls? the first one took only 3 min to set up. this one obviously detects my non-360 gamepad , cause it lets me navigate through the game menu, but when i try to remap the in-game controls nothing happens. i tried using the xinput mod for non-360 gamepads but it still didn't work and i really don't wanna use xpadder for this game.
any ideas?

Game Pad Configuration
----------------
For game pads which do not exhibit correct behavior, a custom configuration can be used to specify the actions that each button and joystick should be associated with. The file must be called joypad.txt and be located in the Dead Space™ 2 installation directory. An example file is located in that directory named joypad_example.txt. You can use this file by renaming it to joypad.txt.

In order to change the behavior of your game pad, you will need to change the value for the button and joystick axis entries. In order to find the correct values for these entries, first navigate to the ‘Game Controllers’ item in Control Panel with the game pad connected to the computer. Next select the game pad from the ‘Installed game controllers’ list and click the ‘Properties’ button. The Properties window should be displayed which will allow you to determine what the number of each of your game pads buttons is as well as the name of each of the joystick axes.

Buttons must be assigned a value of ‘Button.#’ where # is the number of the button.
For joystick axes, they must be assigned a value from the following list:
X-Axis
Y-Axis
Z-Axis
Z-Rotation
Throttle
Rudder
X-Axis.Inverted
Y-Axis.Inverted
Z-Axis.Inverted
Z-Rotation.Inverted
Throttle.Inverted
Rudder.Inverted
This list corresponds to the common axes that are used by game pads, as well a variant of each axis which is flipped or inverted.

After setting each of the button and joystick axis values, and renaming the file joypad.txt, when you start Dead Space™ 2 the configuration will be loaded. If a mistake has been made and the value of any of the buttons or joystick axes isn’t recognized, that button or joystick axis will do nothing in game.

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Dead Space 2\joypad_example.txt
