Well folks, I decided to buy SWAT 4, after playing the multiplayer beta, and playing this for a little. Well, I think its worth it. Not to mention when I bought it from EBGames I also got SWAT3 for free with it because they had some extra pre-order boxes laying around which includes SWAT3 for free.

Fuckin impossible to find serious co-op players. Every once in a while you get people that know their shit, but usually just morons runnin around, opening every door, shooting the shit out of everything that moves.
I hosted a server on the pc I played on, and ran very smoothly apparently with 5 people going (except hospital map where someone blew the O2 tanks, then lagged like shit).
Anyone up for some SERIOUS co-op? I take it its not against the rules to give out a non-dedicated server ip here?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

IM SO DOWN IMMUNITY.
I was actually thinkin of someone with a nice fast, high end machine running an nforce server..if someone is willing
or have some kinda co-ordinated way to get on a server together
I havent tried MP yet, exactly for that reason.but its my main beef with all squad based tactical games like this and rainbow
no one works as a team, everyone wants to be leader and blow through the level...way sicker if u play game like ur playing solo, but all ur teammates are human players...thats so sick, especially with this game

Well, I would like to say something. After using the cracked version of SWAT4, and then using the real retail version which I bought, I noticed a difference in the sound. The cracked version sounded worse, a few select sounds were missing. I don't know if anyone else can confirm this, but I can swear that sounds and certain audio effects were missing from the cracked version.

OMG, I am having the hardest time on this abomb night club mission. I always make it to the top floor, then have my guys go in, and no matter what I do, they always get slaughtered. I even time it 100% precise so both squads throw flashbangs in both doors at the same time, and I still get raped.

I've yet to find a situation where splitting up the team was a good idea. I failed that mission just like you said several times and then I tried it once going in with my full squad at the door nearest the front entrance. Basically I watched where the guy I ordered to toss in a grenade threw his and I went in with the first pair and threw a second one all the way across the room. I think I still had a guy incap'ed but I got an 90 or so score on it (using the less-lethal shotgun cheese, obviously).
Gas is more effective than flashbangs during the early missions. I don't think it's worth carrying anything but gas til the mission at the software developer offices (the only reason being that enemies start wearing masks). Still trying to figure out what the difference between flashbang and stingers is, because they seem to have the exact same effect to me.

I use bangs on the ones w/ masks and armor. I never use stingers as I've accidently killed a couple people when it exploded too closely to them.
I find if you move slowly w/ the pepper-paintball gun, you can subdue most enemies that don't have masks and are unarmored. It's a little more accurate w/ a faster rate of fire than the less-lethal shotgun.
I love how zapping the non-complying suspects w/ the tazer gun will get them to reconsider dropping their weapons. The wedges come in handy too, for when you're about to rush a room w/ three doors, sending a team in through two of them, but don't want suspects to escape through the third.
The only gripe I have w/ the game so far is that your team just stands too damned close to the door when breaching. I can't count how many times my teammates have gotten shot while tossing in a gas grenade because they were basically in the middle of the doorway.
BTW, does anyone know if bullets go through some surfaces in this game? I haven't noticed but that would be nice.
dyn IP addys, subnet & mac spoofs, email routing, and if all else fails, wi-fi. banned? lol, its more like brb. =p

I've shot multiple FMJ .45 smg rounds at a suspect behind a thin sheeted plywood door, didn't even scratch him. So no, bullets do not go through surfaces AT ALL.

when i shoot trough a door where my teammate are behind i hit them. (in training that is)

One of the first missions was pretty creapy..... when u had like to get those murdering people... and there is like that girl getting raped on the matress with the video camera and shit.. and the house is all fucked up...

What difficulty? I know the weapon descriptions say that beanbag shells, flashbangs, and stingers are potentially lethal, but I've yet to see it happen. You can shoot a hostage point blank in the face with the LL shotgun and they still don't die (on Hard).

Yea, that gun worked well in the first mission, but I found the ammo hopper blocked too much of my view. Plus, it just seemed too damn silly to me; I used to play Pro-Am paintball tourneys when I was in college and the idea of a SWAT team relying on a semi-auto paintball gun in a life or death situation is just ridiculous. Break one ball in the barrel and you can't even hit something 5' in front of you, until you have time to sit down and squeegee out the barrel. Real cops only use them on attempted suicides and drunks.

I notice that a lot too, and it gets really frustrating. In the later missions, I've taken to opening all the doors myself.

You can shoot through the wired glass windows that look into the server room in the office mission. I tried shooting a guy who was partially clipping through a door I was blocking and it didn't seem to work, but I only had 9mm FMJ rounds, maybe JHP works?

hmm, anyone know why i get this message when i am trying to host a server?
"Warning: MasterServerUplink: DoUplink is False, not connecting to a master server"
and noone can see the server either.

Hmm..loving the game so far but how do you get your teammates to deploy specific grenades.
Using the style 2 setup I can't get to the little 'sub menu' where you can pick a specific grenade (and I'm not talking about the breach, bang and clear stuff)...

You may have to use the default style (not sure which one, I think it's style 2 actually) to be able to see the "deploy" submenu.
That's what you want, I'm pretty sure, to see the deploy submenu. I haven't needed to use it on anything other than rooms or doors, so it probably depends on what you're looking/pointing at in order to have access to the submenu.
I think the only thing I've needed it for is deploying wedges under doors and tazing suspects who wouldn't drop their weapons.

I am currently almost finished w/ the SP game on medium or normal or whatever the middle-of-the-road setting is.

I probably went through the "cult house" and the a-bomb nightclub missions 20 times before I cleared the rooms w/ the most suspects inside. I don't seem to do very well when a room is packed w/ suspects.
I gotta say, I haven't played a game this fun in a long time. Some will compare it to R6:RS and other games but I personally like it a lot better (didn't like RS except for multiplay) and it's refreshing to not be shooting terrorists for once.

damn this game is so good, but what i hate about it is that i cant quick save in a mission!! any1 knows how to do that ( changing something in a file like FAR CRY or something) that would be great.. other than that, the game is awsome.. thnx RELOADED !!

lmao, quick saving in a SWAT game would totally ruin all tension in the game

Anyone found a use for snipers besides being extra eyes? If you plug someone with them it counts as unauthorized use of deadly force right? And when you are clearing a room, you really don't have time to switch to the sniper and take a shot if the perp is threatening you.
