try to get some debuffs on him, that should help.
debuffs increase damage very drastically in this game sometimes.

|
 |
I am on Chapter 7 and still using the original weapons (except for Snow & Hope) and have upgraded each to level 7.
But now more weapons are becoming available, do I:
1: leave them in my inventory till later?
2: break them down for parts
3: sell them
4: equip them
I cannot equip and upgrade the new weapons as I have used all my parts on upgrading the current weapons.
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Here is a nice, but at first not so easy to understand, list of the weapons with their upgrades:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/file/928790/59331
If you are going for the Treasure Hunter trophy, its enough to equip the weapon once. After that you can do whatever you want with it.
I'm currently at chapter 10 and still keep all the weapons. Because rebuying them costs you some thousands for just one weapon.

You don't really need powerful weapons to play. I am on Chapter 11 doing Rank B missions and all my weapons and accessories are lv1. It's still pretty easy to get 5 stars in every battle. I heard some people finished the game and all missions with just lv1 weapons

I didn't really do any meaningful upgrades before I finished the main game.
I had a flamberge, so a blazefire saber brought to level 23 or something and upgraded to the next stage, for Lightning but that was it.
so you really don't need to upgrade anything.
if you're going for the treasure hunter achievement/trophy then you should keep everything until later. if you don't care about that, then feel free to sell weapons you see no use for if you need the money.

With FFX-2 they at least had some fan service with all those half-naked girls, although the game was bad.
But what should be the fan service here? I doubt this game has really that much fans, and there aren't any sexy girls here either... (apart from that 12 year old girl).

i'll wait and see before i flip out because lightning/fang were literally the only decent characters in the entire game, if the others don't return i'll give it a chance

FF13 had lots of unrealized potential and I believe SE knows that they screwed up.
If they can put their experience with the new engine to good use and simply make a better game more akin to older final fantasy titles it could turn out just fine.
Sure, if it's just like an addon and basically has the same problems as FF13 it's gonna fail, but it doesn't have to. FFX-2 was pretty different from FFX as well so it wouldn't surprise to me some major changes to the gameplay here (hopefully for the better).
I mean.. what does it need, really? Less hand holding, more freedom, more optional stuff? Not that far fetched to get that in. I liked the world well enough and some of the characters cool too (and some were horrible).

FFXI - Shit
FFX-2 Shit
FFXII - Really Shit
FFXIII - Complete shit
So therefor I have no hope for this one, and it will be the first FF game I have not bought at launch.

Wow, they are really killing their fanbase in Japan if you ask me. FF13 did very poorly in Japan, this is obviously for westerners.

Well they didn't make Charlie's Angel out of Lightning at least. Still a bit strange with the medieval armour...but not sluttyfied as they did with X characters. It is supposed to be in a different time/dimension too as it seem.
Might actually be good...but it is hard to tell until we see more of the actual game. A FMV does not say much at all really.

Quote: | Dengeki PlayStation has a two page spread on final Fantasy XIII-2 this week, complete with a one page interview with producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama. Here's a bit of what they say:
XIII-2's story begins in Gran Pulse after the ending of XIII.
The story will feel like it expands out from the after story that was included in the booklet with Xbox 360's Final Fantasy XIII International.
Outside of Lightning, other characters will appear in the game in unexpected forms. Some will see major changes.
XIII-2 is a full sequel. You'll learn some of the things that took place in the background scenes of XIII.
The story will be more dark and mysterious than XIII's.
The story will focus on the goddess Etro.
The game will not have the pop feel of Final Fantasy X-2
The battle system will be an evolved form of XIII's ATB system.
They're listening to opinions both inside and outside of Square Enix and from outside of Japan regarding characters, story and interface.
There may be a difficulty setting. |
Darker story? No pop feel? Listening to feedback about characters and story?
Sounds promising.
Certain FF13 characters were just way too annoying and upbeat (or emo) for my taste so I'm hoping they really do as they say here.

and you know what XIII-2 really is ... somewhere here in this topic is a link to a site when the main creator said if this game would not have been a multi platform title this game would have been bigger [the BD 25 gig vs DVD 6,7 gig (why i say its 6,7 the rest of those 1,8 gigs are padding data and system updates for 360)]
so right from the start they knew they would be making XIII-2
