Wow, looks like while everyone was busy out bricking their consoles, graf released his NPDRM decryption tools!

I'd venture to guess it won't decrypt things that usually require 3.55. As far as I understand, he is tricking the operating system to decrypt it for him, so maybe the decryption method or keys the OS used changed in 3.55? Or maybe he just hasn't figured it out 100% yet. Just thinking out loud.

Can anyone else who got this to work test uncharted 2,sp or mp as it seems to freeze a lot for me,sometimes it wont even start.
My XMB has froze a few times aswell, possible side-effect due to this dodgy LV2 patching?

1. Congrats Sabin, I feel we played a part in you becoming mod as we / I directly fucking recommended you apply!
2. I cannot see why people are installing this FW - why the impatience. It's totally fucking obvious from the above that even if you don't manage to brick your shit, you still won't be able to play nearly anything with most shit giving error codes.
3. I retract 2, as the more sheep the quicker we get a proper FW!

Sony aren't very smart or very caring. I remember cases of bricked PSPs being fixed through Sony for instance. If mine dies for any reason I can just harass my retailer and get a new unit on the spot and so could many others depending on where they purchased.
Grats on the mod position. That place needed more ban hammer.

true, they wont waste time investigating each console costs them to much. usually it goes like X is problem Y is solution = fix it if still under waranty. the how and the why this problem happend is to no care to them.
so even the few people who bricked their system and are still underwarranty have a pretty good chance to get another console. (as long they play dumb and dont go say "i installed a cfw"

Shit that is crazy! If Black Ops doesn't rely soley on system security, why can't they patch (granted massively) MW2 to not "soley" rely on system security?

First guess would be they can but it would be time consuming and cost money, no?
